It really irks me whenever I see people in the industry treat fan translators as evil, mustache twirling thieves, when most are just passionate fans of the medium wanting to share it with people who don't know the language.

I've had Gundam on the mind lately so an unoriginal thought.

It's so weird to have on one side twenty-odd years of shows stretched out to 50 episodes that wanted maybe 40, and on the other shows with 12 that wanted 20 or 24 that wanted 30. And it was such an overnight shift too!
