That alone is cruel and unusual punishment.

You finally manage to secure your freedom, only to have ICE immediately grab you and send you to a detention centre.

I tried outlining a novella. The outline got in my head so bad that I flamed out trying to write the idea & I’m still upset abt it. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to get back to it.

That said, I’m doing ok with a novel for which I did a beat map! But I’m otherwise 90% a pantser for the 1st draft.

"What do you mean" Well sometimes people ask me "So, do awards help with book sales?" and anyway, not universally. I definitely do NOT believe that I (or indeed any author!) am entitled to book sales. But I, uh. Can't live on mine. :)

A little extra sad* rn, as I think the monarch chrysalis I've been monitoring is dead :( The wings are brown instead of orange. But even if it was alive, it wouldn't be able to fly to Mexico unless it broke out today - the temps wouldn't support its flight.

Kizu was VERY good at the emergency vet. Mx Barbarian’s laser beam noises weren’t half as bad as usual! We’re back home w/antibiotics for an infection.
