The Fallen Maiar

Sauron, in his Halbrand form, depicted weilding a spear not unlike Raphael's depictions of angels vanquishing demons. In this case he is posed like Lucifer in "The Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel, one arm covering half his face as he grips the spear, revealing only his eyes, filled with determination as he looks down on his treacherous enemy. Quotation from Tolkien's Letter 131 reads: "He repents in fear when the First Enemy is utterly defeated, but in the end does not do as was commanded, return to the judgement of the gods. He lingers in Middle-earth."

I know this sounds awful, but I find the ending almost humorous. It's such an insanely harsh tonal shift, and is totally at odds with everything else I felt the movie was doing up until that point, my main reaction was to scratch my head, and my gut reaction was to laugh

I enjoyed the last two Alien games they made, small as they were, but I'm eagerly awaiting the Alien: Isolation follow up. Hopefully it will be as big and groundbreaking as the original. I have high expectations.

The one thing you can give Disney is that they do actually do stuff with their IPs. Not always good stuff, but at least there's movement. Breaks my heart how often Fox messed around and did NOTHING with half their IPs, constantly getting caught in circular production hells that lead nowhere.
