The only thing that made me think oooh about that entire article was Michael Arden directing.

Jon M Chu's talk this morning at the BFI was so exciting and insightful. He spoke with such passion and intelligence about Wicked and his adaptation choices. A genuine thrill. And got to see exclusive For Good footage! Plus met him afterwards and got my Wicked steelbook signed in green! 💚

Had an absolute blast chatting about The Witches, Roald Dahl, Jim Henson, and more on one of my favourite pods!

In addition to the new Wicked clip that Jon M Chu brought this morning, there were a number of scenes from Part 1, which he then spoke about, and literally every single one made me cry. Even Dancing Through Life. I sobbed thru Jonny Bailey's sexy dancing. This film makes me FEEL THINGS, I'm afraid.

Honestly this sort of morning is the reason I hope I never have to move out of London. There are very few places in the world where you can have this sort of experience. On a Friday morning. For free. I've lived here for 8 years, and that never gets old, and I never take it for granted.

Was I a big nerd who met Jon M Chu wearing my Wicked "One Short Day in the Emerald City" t-shirt? ABSOLUTELY.

Casually waiting at the BFI for the Jon M Chu talk to begin. *gay screaming*
A sign that reads "London Film Festival For Free: The Wizard of Wicked with Jon M Chu" with a photo of Glinda and Elphaba underneath.

I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

This afternoon I was at the London Film Festival at the BFI to see Rian Johnson speaking about the art of making a murder mystery on films. Fantastic interview, full of great clips from various whodunnits including my beloved Evil Under the Sun and the new Benoit Blanc. Amazing time.
Me standing outside of the BFI with a London Film Festival 2025 banner behind me. A placard with a photo of Rian Johnson announcing his talk. Me in red light. Rian Johnson being interviewed.

My hot take is that Beckett is hot garbage. 🥰

Pretty much all of my in-person friends including my partner can be traced to social media going back decades (even friends I met in person were mostly via people I met on social media), particularly invaluable in moving countries. And then there's Bona Books, which is also thanks to social media.

💯. I love this film! Annual Halloween watch.

I know that the show was set post-Avengers blah blah but it always felt so dated/out of touch to me for this reason. Couldn't suspend any disbelief. Hell's Kitchen is practically cosy irl.

It's so good! Jim was a master at improv in-character reactions, vocally and physically.

Just assume Kermit and Miss Piggy are a given, because they are legitimately my faves. But other than them, the first genuine Muppet celebrity (in the 60s!), the one and only Rowlf.
