Trump: "AI is based on information. I hope they're right about information. I don't know. You've gotta make a lot of money to-- there's gotta be a lot of information out there, but that seems to be pretty hot. We're leading the world on information on AI."
It is *not* about whether the indictments are legally sound, judicious and/or well-reasoned. Trump, & lackey Pam Bondi, don’t give a damn about that—& don’t give a damn about winning either. It is, however, all about instilling terrors, & exacting revenge.
This is good, from Hakeem Jeffries. More of this please, in every conceivable forum:
"Sycophants who aid and abet the President’s vengeful schemes will not be able to hide from the serious legal consequences of their behavior. They will be held accountable."
incredibly, bleakly funny that trump is going after christopher wray, who spent his entire tenure at the fbi with his head down desperately trying to avoid trump's attention and did nothing to protect the bureau from trump's attacks www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Political institutions are a constant variable, & doesn’t have an explanatory power here.
Not voting, campaigning not to vote, voting 3rd party in the last election contributed directly to empowering these fascists. We simply cannot escape this fact. Only the magnitude of that is still TBD.
Needless to say, we don’t see it the same way. You are focusing on political institutional power, I focus on collective responsibility of each group (except for African-Americans bc they knew what was important) bc we aren’t in this dire situation by chance.
Yes, I do blame them for what’s happening bc they are partly responsible.
If we don’t learned the lessons from our idiotic self-aggrandizing myopic politics, we’ll keep making the same mistakes, we’ll keep misidentifying what’s important.
The lack of power is a cop out for self-criticism.
Even it lacks political institutional power (which is different from just institutional power), they clearly campaigned to not vote or vote 3rd party. They misidentify (just like in 16) what the election was about badly. To me, they are partly responsible for harm inflicted on the country
"In effect, these voters responded to the most comprehensive attempt to provide concrete benefits to them since the New Deal by loading an economic shotgun and pointing it directly at themselves." prospect.org/politics/202...
“.. we’re going to take care of our people,” Trump added. “There are some people that really don’t deserve to be taken care of. And we’ll take care of them in a different way.”
Trump's tweet that Portland is "war ravaged" just backfired. A Trump-picked judge cited it in blocking National Guard deployment to Portland, declaring him "untethered from facts."
One of the first tests of mettle for Bari Weiss as Editor-in-Chief will be the way it handles those "nightmares of urban dystopia based on conservative media doom loops" and injected into public discourse by the President himself. When asked about it, how will she deal with lying the size of a city?
Of course, it isn’t. And of course, it’s unconstitutional. And of course, it should be challenged in Court.
And when this Court sides with the Special One, we should get a big industrial shredder, gather all the constitutions in the country, & shred Article 1 live on tv.
What do people think about giving working class Americans a $2000 tariff relief check for the unfair tax that has driven their grocery and housing prices up?
