A great essay on my use of failure and self-improvement as themes in both my books and movies.

Thanks for the amazing, thoughtful write up, T.J.

Finished the audiobook of THE TOWN by Bentley Little and that may be the most bonkers story of his – and that’s saying a lot because I’ve read a lot of his bonker stories. If you dig madness, then this is in your wheelhouse. But beware: this one is worthy of a LONG list of trigger warnings. Whew!

Dedication post to PBS alumni storytellers John Robbins, Paul Lally, and Rae Owings. It was their shows on the tube television mounted on the rolling AV cart in the grade school library that sparked my love for stories in all mediums.

Definitely kiddie fare in execution but the perfect gateway for future horror book nerds like myself. And those Stephen Gammell illustrations are legendary!

Of course, I’m demented to think taking a header out of a high-rise window in dramatic fashion is funny, but this is one you’ll have to try on for yourself. I mean, read the story, not take a header out the window.

It’s called “The Man Who Feared Masks.”

I read Joseph Payne Brennan’s collection of horror stories SCREAM AT MIDNIGHT (1963) and realized he often employed ironic twist (or would that be twisted?) endings to his stories. One of those stories had what I considered a comical ending...

Rationale: Why waste time on things I don’t like when I can spend that same time sharing the joy I found so others might do the same? You’ll know when I don’t like a movie or book or other because I never talk about it. No comment thank you very much. But let me tell you about something I love…
