Welcome, Newskies! If you've somehow found me, it was most likely through my cats: Uschi & Grizzly.
Uschi, age 3, is a black golden-shaded British Shorthair girl. She has anxiety.
Grizzly, age 1, is a black British Shorthair boy. He is a himbo.
I post about cats, food, mental health, D&D, books.

Oh yes, many notebooks - one for Mom, one for spouse. I think the slip here was this was a med prescribed while she was out of state last winter. Everyone here thought she'd been given the rundown (spoiler: she hadn't) and so when Dr explicitly asked about the labs today, it was... 'oh no what labs'

TLDR if you are a caregiver, remember to give yourself grace in the case of finding out something you didn't know and felt like you should have been on top of from the very beginning.

But we got the labs done today, with results pending!
However what should have been a 1 hour appointment turned into a 4 hour appointment (the lab techs were so swamped, may they all have had kind/understanding patients), and I need a food. And tea. Always tea.

In caregiver-ing, things can slip through the cracks.
In this case, Mom was meant to be getting labs every 6 months, but it was only 10 months after the fact that a Dr first brought it up.
Instant guilt I put on myself.
I don't know what I don't know, but the 'shoulda askeds'... Brain weasels suck

If you’re in LA, you’re probably noticing it’s a little wet outside.

Pay attention to evacuation orders because there’s a good chance of mud slides in burn scar areas like the Palisades and Eaton.

Be careful. We don’t do rain well at the best of times and this is an ugly one.

Because of a large storm moving into Southern California over the next couple days the areas of the Palisades and Eaton burn scars are under flood evacuation warning.

If you live in those areas you might want to consider leaving now. Mudslides are not to be fucked with.

... yanno, back in April when I said this tariff crap was going to destroy the holidays for many, I didn't dream it would start with paid-for goods being incinerated due to lack of storage, foresight, ability to create a system to charge for the tariffs, etc.

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

I still can’t ship to the US, I really thought the situation would’ve changed by now. The only thing they’re allowing through is documents. If you’re in Europe, the UK, Canada… please support small businesses. We’re really struggling 😭 I was so excited to embroider cats for the holiday season.
