Ah, found the interview. It's Frost recalling what Lynch said. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

Josie's end was really Joan Chen. She wanted to be written out of the show to do a movie. There's an interview where Lynch talks about choosing the drawer pull but the idea of the character exiting was all Chen.

I'll say this: Goké, Body Snatcher from Hell is a much better, and certainly more interesting movie than Iguana.
russfischer.bsky.social
It's not a great episode! But it's in that stretch of S2 where there are few good storylines for a solid six episodes. Not sure how much a one-shot director could do. (And while Josie is in Keaton's, it's not the worst of her story — or the end.)

I'm still mad about The Iguana With the Tongue of Fire (1971).

This was the same party with the Pitbull encounter that @scottwampler.bsky.social loved to recount.

THAT director aside, Diane Keaton’s performance in Annie Hall opened spaces for women in film: what romantic leads could look like, dress like, sound like; that there could be a place for an oddball who wasn’t a screwball. That’s all her - Keaton was such a brilliant actress and icon, truly

Met Diane Keaton at a party. She was hanging out, talking to everyone. Gracious and welcoming, seemingly happy in the moment. I was totally flustered, had that "I just have to meet her" impulse. She took my hands, said she was glad I said hello. Totally forgot to ask her about directing Twin Peaks.

Not sure if you saw when I was going on about this movie recently, but I guess the Clayton/Bradbury cut, pre-reshoots, was screened at Disney a couple years ago.

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

Fun to buy concert tickets in a digital queue behind more people than an arena can hold.

Make that "buy" and also "people."

You ever think about how there were dudes that probably saw loads of combat in WWII and then 20-odd years later were playing henchmen on BATMAN

Finding the answer is complicated by the other movie called GOOD BOY out this year, not to mention all the other GOOD BOY movies already out there.
