Capitalism is incredible. Sorry, former teacher, your retirement fund is gone because 5 guys who've collectively never worked a full hour told the banks to put all the money in the country into virtual girlfriend futures
WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

Angry and weary that Democrats caved to Republicans, but I am glad to read that trans people’s rights have note been thrown away in this resolution. At least so far.

Pathetic that this is a silver lining: some human beings continue to enjoy human rights, for now.
1. The text for the Continuing Resolution and three Minibus packages for VA/MilCon, Ag, and Leg have been released, and they contain no anti-trans riders.

The danger is not fully passed though: big fights are shaping up for Jan 30.

Continuing Resolution And Shutdown Compromise Contains No Anti-Trans Riders
The shutdown package must still get through the House of Representatives, and further fights on appropriations are expected by the new Jan 30 deadline.

They always stood for nothing. This administration has simply made it clear.
At this point, anyone—a university, a law firm, a corporation, a Democrat—bending the knee to Trump is doing it because they want to, not because of any political reality.

We did what most political leaders, media outlets, corporations, and quite a few colleges wouldn't do. We said no to all this bullshit.

Most of all, I'm just so proud of us voters.
