New for me too, but I teach the words “timorous” and “guileless” every year due to Columbus woefully underestimating the Taíno people, so I feel like I should have known that one.

That IQ test hurt my feelings. I was like no, this is wrong, I used to be in the gifted program!

I get to meet Percival Everett next month at NCTE! I can’t help but hear “Bilgewater!” in Beidler’s voice in my head. Another memory you’ll appreciate: I told Beidler about the ST:TNG Mark Twain episodes. He was previously unaware. Perhaps one of my proudest moments as a scholar.

I was out of the loop. I’m 92% done with @tracydeonn.bsky.social ‘s Oathbound and I was like “Man, there’s a lot to address before I finish this journey” I was not aware we were getting a book 4. This also makes sense because I was like how are we gonna tackle all these points in like 4 chapters?
