Farmers grow what they grow because of farm policy.

We don’t need all the soy and corn that we grow, but those are the commodities that receive subsidies and markets.

If we want something better, if we want to heal the Earth and grow food, now is the time to do it.

This Indigenous People's Day, I'd like to remember Matoaka; Kidnapped from her home and family, held for ransom, forced into spousal duties, forced to convert religions, then stolen away to England to be paraded around as a "savage", until she died at 20/21.
I hope wherever she is, she's happy now.

Imagine making six figures to not do anything you were entrusted to do.

…getting paid to not work while thousands of civil servants around you were getting fired.

…betraying those who counted on you to represent them, all to appease a wannabe dictator.

The GOP Congress is a helluva thing.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

There's no "regular politics" anymore because you can no longer maintain the idea that we all agree on common goals but we only differ about the means of getting there or whatever. The guys in charge now are plainly amoral, sadistic nihilists. They delight in it! You can't civilly disagree with that

Kristi Noem’s America, folks. That poor dog. That poor family.
Tweet by Aaron Reichlin-Melnick: “Border Patrol reportedly shot a dog and then the agent fled rather than deal with any kind of accountability whatsoever.”
Below is Keith Edwards’ tweet: “BREAKING: A family in El Paso says ICE shot and killed their dog, Chop. The agent who fired reportedly ran as the family screamed for help. No one came.” Photo of a large black and brown Rottweiler sitting calmly on a tiled floor next to a white chair and a window with blinds. A black-background screenshot of text describing an incident: the sender says no Border Patrol agents rendered aid after their dog was shot, and that the responsible agent fled the scene with help from others. They emphasize that the agent’s name was never released and that their family lost a member “for no lawful reason.”

Yeah that's fair. They have severely distorted numbers, I should have looked at it closer. They reported only 14 deaths as of August 2025. I'm not sure where they're getting their stats but I'm going to have to delete this post and find a better article to represent what I'm trying to say.
sassmasterjam.bsky.social
Fair enough, I'm not sure why there's conflicting data between the two articles.
sassmasterjam.bsky.social
There haven't been thousands of mass shootings. Thousands of shootings, yes, but only 155 mass shootings, back in August at least.

I can't either. I used to make myself watch Palestine videos, and I mentally damaged myself doing it. I stayed vocal though because I didn't have to keep seeing what was happening to know it's wrong.

It's the same with ICE. Don't torture yourself, we can't fight fascism if we are mentally unwell.

Good people need to start outing their ICE family members, neighbors, and community members.

They need to be made into pariahs in the places decent Americans gather.

NEW: @CDCgov hit hard by massive firings that several staff describe to me as a “bloodbath.”
Among those RIFd:
—leadership of the center for immunization and respiratory diseases;
—leadership of global health center
—leadership of the measles outbreak response; 1/4

They’re still offering new ICE recruits a $50,000 signing bonus, yet active duty military were seen today lining up at food banks.

Defend your country and you can’t afford to eat.

Terrorize your country and you become rich.

Honestly, it’s exhausting that people think Gazans should only ask for help to survive to eat, to stay alive but not to dream, to study, or to rebuild their lives. Wanting education, safety, and a future isn’t greed. It’s being human.
