I half take that back. They've outsourced the cafe to the little terrace cafe on the same block but technically separate from the museum. No refuelling your brain midway through a visit.

This museum is rubbish. Never mind that it's got Livia's garden-in-a-room frescoes and a quiet chirpy little alarm going off semi-regularly as people get a bit too close studying the Boxer at Rest, its cafe is all shut up and dark.

It's not a tan. It's Ancient Roman Dust.

My lower right calf looking surprisingly brown, except there's a pale pink patch where I've wiped the muck away). Lower down, around my ankle and down to my trainer sock is nice and pale pink, with a neat line between the two colours.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I worried that mebbe the Vatican Museum would be a bit wasted on me, what with my philistine tastes. Turns out I'm just not that into Michealangelo. Loads of interesting stuff through the rest of the place. Including a room full of huge Matisse pieces, that most people just zipped through.

I am wearing the jeans that are technically a size down from my current comfy pair but cut differently so it's more like 1.5 sizes down. Someone get excited for me; my movements are a little restricted here.
