I've been listening to Truly, Tradly, Deeply, a six-part podcast deep diving into tradwife culture, and it's SUPER fascinating, but also, I would rather hang out with the Christian trads (who expect similar levels of purity from husbands) than the secular trads, who are just sexist.

US Thanksgiving is one of my favourite times of year on the internet, because I get to sit here in late Spring and watch people create amazing autumnal dishes.
I'm honestly really enjoying reading posts from American mutuals prepping for Thanksgiving
Capitalism poisoned nostalgia so much that some people can’t seem to enjoy nostalgia of *any* kind now. Not all nostalgia is bad? So what if you like a seasonal food or family tradition just because of nostalgia?? It’s fine!! Let yourself enjoy harmless things and warm fuzzy memories.

Okay, well, first of all, calling it "the Bajoran war" makes it sound like it's the Bajorans' fault that their world was occupied by Cardassia, and that they were wrong to fight back; SECOND, I am in this picture and I do not like it.
Bluesky not addictive to teens but definitely a crutch for elder millennials who know too much about the Bajoran war.

Most of the bestsellers I know are either also working day jobs, or expect to go back to their day jobs in a few years' time.
almost every novelist you read who's not from the airport fiction or bestseller sections is working a full on day job, including multi-award winners and absolute legends, or they have a spouse or trust that supports them. virtually across the board. just normalize in your mind that's how it works.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

I am a vocal cheerleader for Victoria in general and Melbourne in particular. As a polity we have done some amazing things, and of these we should be proud. But also we seem incapable of saying 'no' to cops.
You might think that this doesn't affect you. Maybe not now.

I have observed how the police have been applying the 'salami technique'. Slice by slice, our rights are being infringed.

Do you think many Americans predicted what is currently happening to them?
