It’s really hard to bear the contrast on my TL of regular ass Minnesotans doing some of the bravest shit I’ve ever seen in the face of state sponsored terror followed by a deep blue state senator posting: “errrm how does taking Greenland help lower the price of groceries?”

I don't really give a shit about engagement on this site, because I just want to talk to a few people really, but I love it when someone is like ENGAGEMENT HERE IS DOWN and there's a labeler right under their name that reads, "100+ blocks."

I actually wonder what Dow Chemical thinks of the DoD rebrand. Not that the napalm guys wouldn't like it, but I did see DOW and thought it was the chemical company for a second.
Now, I’m no military historian. However, I’m pretty sure that’s not a common Revolutionary war tactic (and that’s ignoring the one guy firing into the air).

This is correct. When I told my non-American friend how far Trump planned to take the fascist regime a year ago, he said okay if that's true, then why isn't the NYT warning everyone right now and why aren't the Democrats shutting down the government and getting in the streets?🤷‍♀️
The problem was not labeling Trump correctly as a fascist. The problem was not treating him as one. They still aren’t! That creates a gap where you’re warning people that things are on fire, but instead of evacuating or getting water, you’re casually sitting down with a cup of tea.
You want to know why Chuck Schumer is talking about affordability & not Trump being a fascist? It's because we already tried talking about him being a fascist *& everyone ignored us*.

Danish Parliament Deputy Speaker Lars-Christian Brask:

"If I could come with some advice, it would be for the Senate & House to start to take control of political power in America because with this erratic & mad behaviour, you have to ask the question, is the President capable of running the US?"

The most surreal shit is that I read this and unironically said to myself, “We cannot let Minnesota fall.” I’m glad a lot of people in my family know the severity of what’s going on, but I don’t know how you explain to uninformed people we are already in the civil war.
"But when I landed in Minneapolis and saw the size, scope and lawlessness of the federal onslaught unfolding here, I understood that Good’s killing was emblematic of its true mission: to stage a spectacle of cruelty upon a city that stands in stark defiance of Trump’s dark vision of America."

Every time I see a new stylist they’re like oh my god your hair is actually curly? it would be so much easier if you wore it curly! And then they proceed to tell me the 5 products I need to buy, the precise order to be applied, the sleep bonnet I need to wear, and six other instructions. Easy!

per the story, the “Abolish ICE is bad” dude is also a “former Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection official”
The author of a controversial memo from centrist think tank Searchlight telling Democrats to abandon the slogan “Abolish ICE” is a senior advisor for WestExec, a D.C. shadow lobbyist for corporations in the defense, surveillance, and immigration enforcement industries.

I have a few new questions to put on that dementia test now.
'“As regards the Nobel Peace Prize, I have on several occasions clearly explained to Trump what is well known, namely that it is an independent Nobel Committee, and not the Norwegian government, that awards the prize,” [Norwegian Prime Minister] Mr. Store said.'
Breaking News: President Trump told Norway’s prime minister that one reason he’s pushing to acquire Greenland is because he didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Also, Jonathon Ross *was* an ICE trainer for a decade.

It's not just "give ICE more money" but specifically, literally "pay Jonathon Ross more money and give him more people to train to shoot mothers in the face"
Make no mistake: "Give ICE better training" = Give ICE more money

When politicians tell you shit like that, they're literally ignoring everything that's happening and arguing that ICE should get MORE money.

They've already done it for half a century with the cops.
