while the pay isnt great the job isnt hard and she is one of 4 trans girls on a staff of 11. I worked at the transgender bike shop for the happiest years of my life. Bonus: if the working conditions suck, queer people are almost always down to unionize.

as far as isolation etc the other thing to consider while you figure out what you want to do long term is (if you are able to move to a city) finding the entry level job place with statistically improbable concentration of queer people. my friend just got a job at the trans girl mini golf course &

Travel nurses get paid really well and get to well, travel. Dental hygienist is another career that is in demand and has a comparatively short training period.

Lots of specific medical technician roles pay really well and are in high demand and require 2 year degrees as of the last time I did this research. Radiation techs and ultrasound techs come to mind.

Friends who are nurses like it okay, stressful work and 12 hr shifts but only 3 days a week

The trades are a good direction, really any skilled technician role. Air conditioning /HVAC tech pays well and is in demand. Building trades (carpentry, electrician work, plumbing) are probably not the best to get into right now bc of the economy/lack of public investment but are incredible jobs
