(I had the great honour of helping repair satin slippers after each show. In case you don’t know, not only do feet stink, but satin also traps boy oil smells in deeply unpleasant ways.)

When you see me posting fashion stuff it’s really one of my special interests but one that doesn’t really fit in w most of my identity (unless you knew me IRL before I was sick & broke). Costume design was also my top tech class in theatre school. It’s not as glamours as it sounds tho.

I got into crochet after a failed attempt to learn lace embroidery. My Nonna crocheted like everyone else in the 70s but back in Sicily the women in her family were lace-makers. She was also an excellent seamstress, & the seamstress SHE used was a goddess. It’s a noble tradition.

Watching Is It Cake: Halloween season & I joked that I want my birthday cake to look like a big ball of yarn so now my son & husband are going to try to make this. Their combined experience in decorative cake making is zero. Very excited to see how this turns out.

I may need to join the uninformed masses in the interest of my health. Other than checking in w my loved ones in the USA to make sure they are personally safe, I think the time has come for me to stop knowing what is happening across the border.

From what I understand, the entire airport is considered to be on Canadian soil, including US customs. Legally speaking no one has any authority whatsoever to detain you there unless it is someone representing the Canadian government.

It really can't be said enough: the goal of the "anti-woke" movement was always to destroy social norms against bigotry. And it worked. And there's a whole lot of purportedly "left" thinkers & commentators who helped it -- indeed, it couldn't have been done without them.

They should feel bad.
