I think I am at the stage where the expert guidance of someone who is a professional dietitian is needed to get past my current plateau.

The workouts alone aren’t cutting it.

To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

Well now, would you look at that?

A massive study of NEARLY 300,000 people in the United States found that receiving an updated 2024-2025 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine REDUCED people’s risk of severe disease AND death in ALL age groups, REGARDLESS of immunity from prior infection or vaccination.

Please be conscious if you protest this weekend that there are feds at the protest. They look like you and they sound like you, not like Steve Buscemi in that one clip with the skateboard. Thinking you can spot them is self delusion. Nobody you haven’t met needs to know your last name.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

Wanted to take a moment to say thanks for posting the lists you have been and to say I’ve been sharing the info and redirecting my spending because of it. If a lot of us alter our spending behavior, it’s gonna be felt and acknowledged. Big time. But meanwhile, it’s just the right thing to do.

Few things kill the urge to work with an artist quicker than a sudden maze of requirements and restrictions, laid bare after the initial response to an advertisement.

Would absolutely love to ask to get a piece together with either form if the opportunity ever came up. :)

What is "plenary authority" and why is it a big deal that Miller said that Trump has it over the national guard?
4 frame comic where Miller slowly blinks. Text reads. A few hours ago, speaking on cnn about Trump's plan to send the national guard into us cities, Miller said : under title 10 of the us code, the president has plenary authority, has... He then fully stopped talking and just blinked at the camera, as if he realized that he said the quiet part out loud. "Plenary authority" means "complete power over a particular area with no limitayions". It is equivalent to ruling by decree, which us how Mussolini, Stalin or Hitler governed. Having "plenary authority" over the military would mean that Trump can just use the national guard as he pleases, no matter what the courts say. It's a power grab.

JB Pritzker and Gavin Newsom are doing something new and important: They understand Stephen Miller's theory of fascist power politics, and they've developed a theory on how to combat it. More Dems need to reckon with Miller's understanding of the moment.

Inside Stephen Miller’s Secret Plan to Normalize Trump’s Dictator Rule
He wants to supercharge searing civil tensions to get low-information voters to embrace their inner authoritarian. Exactly two Democrats appear to fully grasp this.

“Should any political party attempt to abolish Social Security, unemployment insurance & eliminate labor laws & farm programs, you would not hear of that party again. There is a tiny splinter group that believes you can do these things…Their number is negligible & they are stupid.”
