Right! I thought this was the case but wasn't sure. My guess is this is the case in MacOS as well.
Yeah it’s been in iOS for a while now I guess they ported this over to MacOS.

Come to think of it my screenshots dir is within iCloud so it’s probably an iCloud thing.
(fwiw this is my own photo btw, which I probably screenshotted for insertion into a powerpoint or something! A House Wren from many years ago!)
Weird #Wrensday story. I do a quick search on my Mac for "wren", and this *screenshot* comes up. No filename at all that indicates it is a wren. MacOS is now scanning files and identifying birds on its own 😱 🪶

(To be fair it also included a rather wren-like thrush in the results.. but still.. wow!)

Toogle loves carving pumpkins! 🎃

Come see him and other Zoo Boise animals receive Halloween treats, plus trick or treat stations, costume contests, and lots more fun on Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26 for Boo at the Zoo, presented by Delta Dental of Idaho.

ahhhh I should have clued into #Wrensday and done both of these as Wednesday releases 😂

maybe if I have enough for Carolina Wren I'll do that soon

gosh I also have lots of House Wren, some Rock Wren, and a smidge of Pacific Wren. I may have to make something of those someday

I'm Lauren, a biologist and illustrator with @instbirdpop.bsky.social . I work in songbird population monitoring & demographics. I band birds, teach bird banding classes, and operate stations in Yosemite and on Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands! & then I get to illustrate for our publications!
this all stated YouTube is like 0.01% of the listens the podcast gets for the last year or so, at best
File this under "I don't understand the algorithm"

This feed has been up under the new channel for one day. It's already 1/3rd of the way to beating how many views/listens the podcast had on YT when mixed with my videos. 🤷‍♂️

(It's nothing huge, and the views are concentrated on random episodes.)
When Google Podcasts shut down, podcasters were forced to move to YouTube Music Podcasts (so confusing!) and it was not made clear that adding an audio podcast to a channel would flood your video channel with audio content, so I've moved Songbirding audio podcast to its own channel.
Some housekeeping has been done with the audio feed of Songbirding on Youtube (& Youtube Music Podcasts 🙃) -- the podcast can now be found on a separate channel to keep things a bit neater.

This channel will be only audio content -- follow at the link below!

FYI As a listener I wouldn't recommend YouTube for podcasts, but as a podcaster it seems to be necessary for discovery. 🤷
This "reset" has been a long time coming, hoping to be back soon with video content but I needed to do this first as it was really bothering me. Google made things incredibly confusing with their moving of podcasts to YouTube.
I feel like moving the feed to YouTube has been highly detrimental to my YouTube channel as it turned it into mostly videos with no video. If you're an audio podcaster who also has a YouTube channel, make sure you make a separate channel for your audio content.

Tonight and tomorrow night are quite favourable for nocturnal songbird migration, with light winds and clear skies. Expect a good surge of migrants moving into the weekend

So against my better judgment I'll probably watch this. I worry, though.
