Nigel Farage promised that Reform councils would cut local government "waste" in order to slash taxes.

Now the party's flagship Kent administration is set to actually raise taxes and has just started asking opposition parties for help after failing to identify the millions in savings they promised

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

This obsession with reaching across the aisle to people who want to tear your arm off will kill democracy. Find everyone who doesn't want to do that and work with them, there are plenty of them.

Senior Labour figures have expressed dismay at the Party's "cowardly" and "incompetent" response to Tory shadow minister Katie Lam calling for legal migrants to "go home".

"What’s the point of us saying we’re anti-racist when we fail to call out racism," said one MP.

you know it is not at all difficult to acknowledge the legitimate concerns about the tattoo and still make a case for the candidate. but this would require maturity, a perspective outside ones own and a willingness to lose a little face, which means it won’t happen.

I have spent many many work days listening to (workplace-mandated) ClassicFM, and I believe that, if there is a negative afterlife, it will be entirely soundtracked by identikit orchestral film scores (the more twee or jingoistic the better), ads for cruises/dental implants, and LBC news bulletins

“What if we grudgingly did this but in a way that pissed everyone off?”
If Labour cannot denounce mass deportation of permanent residents, Idi Amin style, what is the point of them?
If this is a covert campaign to get it signed off by the studio I think it might work because we need this film made.

Gonna write “that’s obviously off the record” on all of my posts.

Thou shalt not support a man who bulldozes the White House to build himself a golden ballroom whilst the government is shut down because he doesn’t want the financial records tying him to Jeffrey Epstein to come out.
And Labour joining in rather than condemning in strongest possible terms.

I don’t think the argument that “we will follow the King’s lead on this” from HMG re Andrew is wise. Because the Palace has known and helped cover up his scandals for years. Corrupt to the core.

Every day brings fresh Andrew scandal, today’s at the tax payer’s expense for not paying rent.
wtf is wrong with them. Joined the greens this week. I’ve had it.

Not only has the Crown Estate seemed very, very, very keen to comply with The Times’ FOI on the terms of Prince Andrew’s lease, speedily & fully, without redaction; but The Times has gone to some effort to spell out precisely on what grounds Andrew could be evicted under the lease’s terms.
