An info page about robots in the Apex Society Universe. Unfortunately there's too much text to fit in the word limit here. I'll have to summarize.

First touches on artificial beings created through magic, like Golems and Hephaestus' handmaidens. Then there's the story of the mechanical soldiers that guarded holy relics of the Buddha. Then Yan Shi of 4th Century China who built a lifelike artificial man out of wood and leather. Then a mention of the automatons of the underground civilization the Vril-Ya. Then the clockwork woman Olimpia built by Dr. Coppelius. Then the word robot being coined by Rossum's Universal Robots.

After that, there's the Freemechs - freed robot workers from Counter-Earth who set themselves up on the Counter-Earth moon of Kapek as a safe haven for mechanical lifeforms.

Then the story of Robo Sol Incvictus, built in the 50s to battle the superhero Sol Invictus - but reprogrammed to act just like him. He was eventually relocated to Kapek.

Finally, there's C.R.A.S.H. (Crimefighting Robot Army with Synthetic Hivemind), an army of robots resembling crash test dummies who share a single mind. They were built by Krackle Inc. but the program was downsized after one of the units broke away from the hive-mind and attempted to destroy humanity in the early 80s.

The thing about Woody Allen is, even if you take the situation in the absolute best light (which you shouldn't), he married the adopted daughter of his ex-wife. That's fucked up. That alone should get you permanently shunned from polite society.

I don't recognize most of the background characters, sorry.

Look, I have no clue what's going on here.
Ad for Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme comic.

"The Sorcerer Supreme has fallen. Long live the Sorcerer Supreme"

An imagine of Gambit, Scarlet Witch, Storm, and some other characters I don't recognize in Doctor Strange capes.

Tim Heidecker is so good at this.
WHAT an incredible experience getting to perform at the Riyadh comedy festival. I left feeling grateful and humbled by his majesty’s generosity. I’ll never forget this memorial experience and all the fun we had. Hope to do it again soon.

And it's bare, surface-level criticism. Nobody doing this has to actually engage with what they're criticizing, it's never about how well those themes or characters are done, just that they exist. It's intellectually lazy, but it's just aesthetics they can point to without engaging any deeper.

Too many womens? *DING*
Woman in hijab? *DING*

Once you see it, it starts to bring into focus a lot of what these cringe crusaders complaints actually are, no matter how nonsensical, they're all playing at doing a Cinemasins for games. Gay characters? *DING* Story with environmental themes? *DING*

Fashy Cinemasins

That's what this is, the effect the proliferation of "anti-woke" youtube grifters have had on their audiences as a whole, stunting their ability to engage with media and training them to look for "DEI sins" to call out, atrophying their ability to enjoy the games they're playing.

I just looked it up and this one is set in Vietnam, not WW2, so that's... something, I guess...
spearhafoc.bsky.social
Looking into the plot summary, Johns at least changed the war the robot was built to fight in? It's Vietnam instead of WW2. As far as I can tell, that's the only thing that differentiates this character from G.I. Robot.

the ending of THE GODFATHER, the best american movie ever made, doesn't work without diane keaton's final look --- at the realization of who she's married and what her life is going to become and what corruption lurks behind closed doors. unforgettable, inimitable work. RIP.

Yeah, there's no twist on the concept at all. Even The Asylum puts more thought into their Mockbusters.

I'm pretty amazed at how flagrant this one is.

Sometimes I get morbidly curious about what Geoff Johns is doing in his Geiger comics, where he doesn't have access to DC characters.

But I see he's simply renaming DC characters and just doing that.
The cover to a Junkyard Joe, a robot WW2 soldier. A G.I. Robot, if you will. He's surrounded in boxes by "The Junkyard Dogs" who are just Sgt. Rock and Easy Company. Another Junkyard Joe cover. Him popping out of a retro style comic page. He's, again, a humanoid robot in a WW2 uniform. The only difference between him and G.I. Robot is he's silver instead of gold.

Just watched the Wonder Man teaser.

Oh. The guy who played the Boravian president in Superman is just *like that* then.

This is a real exchange from the show, if anyone's wondering. Watch The Sopranos.

Meadow: I was just watching Borat on cable. You can watch that thing 50 times and it's still hilarious. (laughs) He brings that lady his shit. (laughs)

A.J.: (Morosely) It wasn't fair to the people involved.

People are still doing “there aren’t going to be midterms” posts as we see these people struggle to handle a guy in a frog costume
Steve Buscemi as Nikita Khrushchev saying “You are accused of doomer behavior. The court finds you guilty and sentences you to be shot.”
