Today, Treasury Sec. Bessent floated a $40B Argentina bailout.

But, the White House's FY26 budget includes $18B in cuts to NIH, $5B cuts to each of NSF, NSF, EPA and CDC ($20B more) and $1.7B in cuts to NOAA, also a total of ~$40B.

Seems like the executive branch has a different set of priorities.

I understand that it's hard to find the right language to talk about what is escalating, what is shifting, and how that compares with what existed before, but we desperately need white people especially to actually do the hard work of finding the right language and not be lax about it

We have an unused stopped flow accessory from Applied Photophysics. We traded in our Chirascan CD instrument so we have no use for this anymore. Reach out if you are interested and can find a home for this setup. Will ofcourse only work with a Chirascan!
