Well said! My take is that we have reached the stage where the super rich believe they no longer need democracy to keep workers healthy/fed/alive as AI/tech will decimate jobs, while climate change will decimate food and land. Admittedly dystopian but not seeing anything to challenge this view.

Agree, and I think that is a major problem as some in Labour/govt actually seem to think the responses on X reflect public opinion! So their policies shift to align and “lobby” to that audience, leading to a vicious cycle.

I hear you but maybe many of them would also leave if you did. No UK public/govt body should be using X (I fear some in our govt think responses on X reflect true public opinion!), but individuals should make their own decisions.
However, if the only place to see friends is a pub full of racists…

Meanwhile, the super rich double their wealth every few years and big corporations make billions in profit (and push up prices when a slight blip in PROFITS, not losses, is forecast).
We are not all in the same boat

Exactly! We should all be standing up for vulnerable refugees out of principle (supporting them to work & contribute) but Brexit taught EU nationals that this is about racism, fascism & othering, and will expand to include other immigrants and the poor/disabled/old etc.
We have to fight this now!

Teesside’s freeport, initiated in 2021 under Rishi Sunak, has cost £560 million far exceeding the standard £25 million allocation (22 times the standard £25m).
90% profits go to the private sector.
This clearly shows the UK model of State aid post-Brexit is utterly corrupt.

The polititicans are very aware of the threat but have ACTIVELY decided that rather than try do something remedial (and unpopular) now, they are instead planning for the future fallout = cutting aid to countries, blocking refugees, banning the inevitable protests (when the public realises).
