The only striking thing is that two-thirds of Republicans claim they don't support this.

Strikingly, over a third of Republicans support deporting citizens who disagree with Donald Trump, according to new polling from The Economist and YouGov

Vought’s ideology of “radical constitutionalism” captures the defining sensibility on the Trumpist Right: “The Left,” he believes, has command of America, there is nothing left to conserve, nothing short of a radical “counter-revolution” can now save the nation.

It's clear now that Donald Trump thinks Hamas is less evil than the Democratic Party and American liberalism - an opinion he shares with the vast majority of Republican voters, who've been told by Fox News for thirty years that American liberals are the worst people on earth.

It’s fun and not at all disturbing that the fascists and tech oligarchs who control this country are all absolutely marinated and cooked in brain rotting conspiracy theories and pseudo-ideological drivel.

Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

This is how little the lives of Black people matter to way too many of our law enforcement.

They left that man to DIE because they assumed all Black people are on drugs.

Even if he was on drugs, he clearly needed medical help.

Shaking my head.

A lawsuit alleges a Black postal worker died after officers ignored clear signs he was suffering from a massive stroke, believing his medical emergency was drugs

The suit says guards left him helpless on a jail cell floor in his own urine for hours

There will also be messages from AI Chatlie Kirk and, eventually, AI dead Donald Trump. They'll define enemies and the brutal punishments to which those enemies (us) should be subjected. And those messages will have the force of law.

The dystopia we're heading toward is a theocracy in which audiovisual messages from AI Jesus tell us that tech gurus and oil magnates are God's earthly emissaries and the social safety net must be fully eliminated for their benefit. Most white heartlanders will believe those messages are genuine.

Can you think of a single movie in which there is a video from the government denouncing its political opponents playing on a loop in public spaces in which that government was the good guy?

"I never use the words Democrats and Republicans. It's liberals and Americans." -James Watt, Reagan's first interior secretary.

That's Trumpism in embryonic form.

We're also three decades into Murdochism. The main reason Republican voters hate us and want us all jailed or executed is Fox (and talk radio before it, and Gingrich and Reagan before them).
aselrod.bsky.social
We’ve also got to stop imagining that this will all somehow stop and go back to normal overnight once Trump makes some specific key mistake or, eventually, leaves the stage entirely.

We are a decade into Trumpism. Whatever comes after him for the GOP isn’t going to be a McCain or a Bush.

Relatedly, Dems have to stop ceding any ground on the crime issue. Stop saying Trump has a point or that Rs are right about crime in cities.

First and foremost, they aren’t right. They are presenting a nightmarish hellscape that doesn’t exit.

Second, there’s no compromise here. They want tyranny.

At this point, pretty much just the Times and the Atlantic. Maybe Morning Joe, the New Yorker, and New York magazine.

News: Bari Weiss just sent a memo to staffers at CBS News asking them to produce a memo explaining "how you spend your working hours—and ideally, what you've made (or are making) that you're most proud of."

One CBS News staffer puts it like this to me: "We just got Elon Musked."
