The Council of Europe has warned that the UK gov’s treatment of trans people may breach human rights law.

This must be a wake up call.

We’ve seen an increase in hostility towards trans in recent years.

Everyone deserves dignity, safety, & respect - that includes trans people.

If I say I wish you were my MP do I also get an Orange heart the same as Dawn? 🙂

I was wondering when the CoE was going to raise that.

There is "no easy paths" for the UK that allows EU cake without foreigners "because the EU never allows them for 3rd countries"

The prefered method of integrating 3rd countries into EU structures is the EEA 3rd pillar within an AA.

FoM is a problem for some it seems.

If that was the case he would be listing the viable options that exist now wouldn't he.

It is Labourism talk for we want the cake but not the foreigners.

SMEs within the UK (such as me) can't complete with SMEs in France that export to Northern Ireland let alone anywhere else.

Everytime we ask Tory / Reform / Labour / LibDem (in Scotland) representatives for solutions all we get is silence?

You are the barrier.

Cost of Brexit and leaving the Single Market & Customs Union for farmers and SMEs.

This reduces growth and raises prices for *everything*.

Example, £855 of beef
Before Brexit: £545
With Brexit: £1,130

I spent over five years explaining to Thangam in Bristol Central why her policy for musicians touring was undeliverable outside the single market and customs.

She refused to listen, added it to the manifesto and got lots of people to vote for it.

It is however no closer to being deliverable.

The bbc focussing on what the ceasefire means for the hostages way more than what it means for Gazans, again seeing that disproportionately we’ve become accustomed to for years, this isn’t new, and it’s certainly not ok

This conversation.

Thank you, #BBCWest / #BBCBristol - it's good to see you can still do it.

What UK politicians are doing for their own tribes (Labour, Reform, Tories mostly but also the LibDems, Greens & SNP) is use ignorance as a weapon.

What Labour, Reform & Tory politicians have done in this case is put problems in the 'too difficult to fix' box and use racism / xenophobia as policy.

Who voted in the last general election against Freedom of movement and secure borders via EU security databases?

Thus, also not giving EU citizens here within the UK protection from being classed as a criminal and deported.

Was that you by any chance?
stuartbudd.bsky.social
WTO rules define borders.

Reform / Tory and Labour supporters insisted on these borders because they don't like foreigners.
stuartbudd.bsky.social
You are not interested in criminals.
You are only interested in deporting foreigners.

If you were interested in strong borders and preventing known criminals from entering the UK then the EU security databases would be a priority.

If there is a strong criminal case nobody would be paid to leave.
stuartbudd.bsky.social
Oh for gods sake!
No, it is not.
stuartbudd.bsky.social
This is a xenophobic policy that reinforces the ingrained european view of the British.

You don't like FoM because you don't like foreigners and usually Romainians.

This is govt policy that reinforces your xenophobic prejudices while not fixing anything & making international relations harder.
stuartbudd.bsky.social
An association agreement with access to the single market and customs is the preferred way to integrate a 3rd country into EU structures and build up the economy for potential candidate countries.

That has taken other countries about two years.
stuartbudd.bsky.social
Foreign criminals do hide in the UK because Tories and Labour removed UK access to EU databases.

This article is about values.

"foreign criminals" are being rounded up by Trump and this Labour government while people in this article were paid to leave.

Europe see the British blaming Romanians.

Nobody in 2014 wanted to remove rights from our neighbours.

The vote was to gain rights

The Brexit vote was to remove rights from our neighbours.
Labour reinforced this by ruling out FoM / protection for our neighbours.

Thus, more deportations, while europe watches.

The problem we have is that the Scottish government would like better relations while the Westminster government refuse to implement the TCA for citizens rights and border checks while deporting EU nations for no real reason.

Thus, everything is on hold.

EU citizen who applied for pre-settled status is to be deported from Scotland
Greek Cypriot Costa Koushiappis to be removed from UK even though his application is pending with Home Office

stuartbudd.bsky.social
What we have are representatives of Scotland visiting the EU parliament and meeting with MEPs in order to keep dialog and contacts ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Westminster Labour govt and their lackeys poke fun at such events while deporting citizens of the countries they want better relationships with.
stuartbudd.bsky.social
Tactical voting for Labour is pretty much over.

Labour seats in the locals next year are going to be wiped out with Labour seats going to the Greens and LibDems.

Expect lots of new Green and LibDems councilors.
dylandifford.bsky.social
This means we are still seeing intra-bloc vote switching between Labour, Lib Dem and Green voters. However, the net effect is less tactical, with the number of LD and Grn local election voters returning to Labour for their Westminster VI halved relative to previous years.
