This is the thing every leftist has been warning workers about for decades, & part of why unionization in those spaces cannot just happen, but must be lead and executed in the most militant of fashions. Unions only work if management is afraid they will hit back & if they hit back & push constantly.

Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.

This is gross but not surprising. Our leadership hates public ed, our country makes labor action as a fed effectively impossible, and fed unions have spent decades not doing anything about it so they are weak and ineffective to meet the moment. It's all captured all the way down.

Yeah, one of my biggest political changes has been on 2nd amendment shit, & how if we want to truly disarm the country for actual good, it has to start with concerted efforts to disarm police & right wing terror groups who are the major armed threat in the US. All else is just bigotry again.

I think it's more that, what we are seeing is people finally becoming aware of just how ubiquitous lying is within law enforcement, and how now that the colonial boomerang is coming back for the rest of us it cannot be ignored, & how that fact is colliding w/US constantly falls back on denial.

CHICAGO (WGN) - A WGN creative services department employee was detained by two Border Patrol officers and later released after federal agents
swarmed a busy intersection on Chicago's North Side Friday morning, at the height of rush hour.
WGN is not naming the employee, as station policy requires blurring faces and not identifying those who have not been charged with a crime.
Witnesses on site who captured the incident on video spoke to WGN about the moments leading up to the staffer's detainment.

It has been upsetting watching the establishment hurl itself at Mamdani but I think the other way to read that is that there really is a *better* politics possible and he shows that it is REAL.
