It's important to realize that we live in a world that believes everything worth doing that you do needs to be commodified, and that it's weird to think you have anything too valuable to put through that.

It is important to resist commodity for your most precious things & more. It's not theirs.

One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

i don’t *really* care if we get 25 episodes seasons back, but i would REALLY just like to see any fucking consistency in release schedules and SOME SORT of standard length.

i am tired of trying to get a read on a show and not knowing how many episodes it even is to know if a slow burn is worth it

Hell yeah. I have a Rabbitfolk player option in my game and I might just have to use this for my player's guide wiki.
Rabbit on watch. Cold, hungry and tired just like me right now. Work continues on third Gwelf book. More soon.

"Racism isn't about hate it's about indifference to the suffering of others when it benefits you" is a powerful ass point being made in this that I think is far more useful then all the shit we get taught about it in school fr.

This is why all those "noble resignations" were bullshit. In the long term, all that means is that there's no one in the halls of power fighting to keep the lights on and you've flung the people to the wolves. You have to create resistance inside these places until they KICK you out.
The CDC has turned off its vaccine search tool.

The vaccines.gov site now gives an error when you enter a valid zip code.

They also removed text saying “Vaccines can help you stay healthy” and added a banner saying the site is being updated.

It's almost like, letting the practicing of law become a stratified career has irreparably damaged it as fail sons who are there for a check and prestige rather than the job flood the zone & elite class interested encourage protection of their own rather than the law.

Who could have seen that?
Our discovery that there were numerous basic errors in the response to an important emergency habeas petition we filed let to another discovery: they had done it before, and a local judge had even warned them about using AI to write briefs seeking to jail people.

I still cannot imagine why we don't see every fucking potential candidate at a federal level running rabidly on forgiving all student load debt if you are anything left of frothing free market psycho. It's such an easy layup and is an ESSENTIAL 1st step to getting our education level back up fr.

It is so fucking wild hearing these people say the same fucking shit my mentor said to me when I was doing federal work, and it have the same effect on everyone else when they hear it. The dumbest shit said to paper over the most incompetent behavior.
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

The vast majority of schools in this country are not run by education teams but by admin who want to run it like a business designed to inhale tuition or are stuck in a public system leveraged to hell w/debt. Our country has spent decades abusing & eroding it so AI is not a surprise.
It’s blowing my mind that schools, universities, public services would run headlong into this. We spent 15 years documenting black boxes. This is a black box in a black hole!
I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

When onboarding people into a specialized trade, it is hammered into you from the jump that you should minimize jargon in order to make the learning process smoother. This also applies to world building, and you should always act accordingly. There will be PLENTY of time to get them buried in vocab.
i love when characters are like "it's like a [specific unique thing to this fantasy world] getting [specific circumstance unique to this world]" as a terrible way to exposit something about the world while looking at the camera, eyebrow raised, like "cool worldbuilding, right?"

Inspired by someone elsewhere, I hereby vow to try to avoid the terms "content" and "content creator," unless I *must* talk about work across so many fields that a generic term is the only one that will suffice. Let's not reduce art, criticism, journalism, etc. to an undifferentiated smear of Stuff.
