Hey there, new folks! My name is Kris, and I work on video games, anime, and other media. Taquka’angcuk is my Alutiiq name and means “Little Bear.”

I’ll probably mostly use this space to talk about old video games and make the odd project announcement, but I’m glad to have you around nonetheless!

This is a lovely article. It’s nice to be reminded that your collection doesn’t have to be filled what people SAY is good, but simply what you love.

Some of my least-played games are considered all-timers and some of my faves are certified 5/10s. Explore! Go beyond those popular online opinions!
A screenshot from the article reading:
“The other side of that coin sounds like it should be just as obvious, but I find it often gets lost amongst the reams of well-intended recommendations and long lists filled with games you “must” play: Don’t buy games you “should” like. You can have an absolutely fantastic time with a PC Engine and never buy a single Ys for it. You can happily spend weeks with a Saturn and never touch some rare Japanese shmup. You can own a SNES for a lifetime and have no strong feelings either way about Mario Kart.

You’re allowed to simply not like racing games/RPGs/point ‘n’ click adventures, even the really good ones you’re “supposed” to, and it’s OK to see a few screenshots of something and then actually listen to the voice in the back of your head that’s insisting you wouldn’t enjoy playing whatever it is.”

I first saw this post as part of a different thread and I was like “damn, some of the biggest traumas in Elliot’s life have banger soundtracks.”

I would love it, especially with tariffs making importing stuff a pain!

It’s kinda wild that Tron Ares might be the first movie where more people own the soundtrack than see the movie.

I really recommend browsing a reddit called "Is this AI?" for this purpose. people post questionable images and commenters weigh in on their validity, but are required to provide specifics as to their reasoning. once you start seeing the signs, it gets easier and easier over time

Hang in there… I’m not sure if sharing the pain in a bar would be better or worse.

Everyone watching this Mariners game tonight gets to age 10 years as an extra special treat.

Back when BBTAG first came out, I was feeling really bummed about the initial mismatch between the English audio and JP flap, and my wonderful friend Eddie sat me down in front of XB2 (which is a GREAT game regardless) until I felt better.

It's been a long road, but Ys vs Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is finally out today.

Thank you for every message, every word of support, and for your patience.

We promised 2025 and we kept that promise.

elsewhere in the seattle mariners extended universe a fan is eating small amounts of dirt he collected from the t-mobile infield every day because he wanted to change the vibes after game 1 and since it worked he’s trapped eating dirt every day

From the Shibuya Capcom Store, I got this giant 300 page Capcom Key Art Catalog that’s an incredible visual reference! I think they only sell it at exhibits or their online store?

It covers such a vast array of Capcom history and the print is beautiful 🥰
A 300 page Capcom key art catalog art book. Next to it is a megaman 11-styled megaman figure propped up at an angle by a Sonic Adventure 2 acrylic block. In front of them is a surly looking Ryu figure from SF6 who’s designed to sit on cup ramen or corner surfaces. A spread featuring key art for Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters and Megaman X1 A spread featuring keys for Bionic Commando (original) and Bionic Commando (00s reboot) A spread featuring keys from Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble and Viewtiful Joe: the double trouble
