Pinned Post!

This is my "personal" account where I shoot the shit about pretty much everything from anime and manga to TV shows, porn, politics, and everything else in between. I rarely post actual site articles here. You can find the official site @fandompost.com where it's all about the fun stuff

This was fun; review up on release day next week.

I miss playing D&D.

now now, let's not run to the authorities.

Oh yeah, it's a manga thing! I feel like I don't see it as much in new ones I pick up, but it could be generational depending on the artist. A quick search in Japanese shows ppl calling it フキダシの内側(に)しっぽ or フキダシの中にしっぽ which both basically mean "balloon with the tail on the inside"

I’ve never seen this before! An *inward-indicating* word-balloon tail (that’s the speaker’s right arm descending below the word balloon).

FASCINATING! Does this tail technique have a name? Have folks seen it used elsewhere?? I have so many questions!!! (From HIRAYASUMI, book 3, pg 37)

It started off at 32 this morning and it's up to 46 now! So, progress!

Still no heat on :D

And once they didn't flop it, the whole genre exploded in sales.

Sadly, I'm convinced my PS5 is just a POS when it comes to 4K releases. I know Arrow releases have had problems, but I put in the WB Superman 2025 release last night and it crapped out with an error after ten minutes, just like those releases.

Just sucks.

So many fun books where I felt like I was the only one in my LCS that was actually buying these books.

One of the best things about buying comics in the 80s was finding a series that had been running for a few years that was under the radar, but still profitable, and being able to buy a couple dozen back issues for a buck each and binge read a run.

Checkmate, Suicide Squad, Manhunter, Captain Atom.

As an actual fan of the Checkmate comics going back to its 1980s run, I know the use of it in the modern won't be anything like it. But just the shout out to it makes me stupidly happy.

Big upheaval in Japanese politics. Today (Japan time), after a ninety minute meeting between Saitō, head of Komeito, and Takaichi, the LDP politician who recently won her party’s presidency, Saitō announced an end to their parties’ 26-year-long coalition agreement.

One of the things that kills me with a lot of the usual analysis is that it's focused solely on box office. It misses so many other elements, from merch to home video and now streaming/digital purchase, but also tax incentives, partnerships, etc etc.

I’m very still got my Blu-ray!

And added to my revisit queue.

That was such a weirdly hot scene at a young age.
chrisbeveridge.bsky.social
Ok I totally agree there. The movie was definitely warning material. But it also had people floating up and exploding willingly.

It’s amazing how little time can change interpretation of things

#OnePunchMan was the biggest anime a decade ago, but in the ten years since, the most exciting things to come out of it have been the paths of its team working on other projects, rather than future seasons of the series itself. Check out my retrospective.

My eldest was super into it during its original run and got to see it on broadway as well. It was a great experience for her.

I'm glad to see it coming around again, even if it draws all the haters out from the woodwork.
