The Pitt got greenlit for a season 3, out next February, and the announcement has very funny comment from HBO chairman Casey Bloys that’s like “yeah, turns out if you just make a TV show like how we used to make TV shows you can have a 15+ episode season every year 🤷‍♂️”

today's background anime is Underwater Ray Romano, aka Utawarerumono

I needed something that could run for a couple of days and distract at times from very bad thoughts. Let's hope this does the trick.

It's another week of #frieren being silly. In fact, perhaps sillier than ever. There are a lot of laughs to be had, perhaps some tears, and maybe even some progress on romantic elements that have been teased at in the first season. It's simple, but great.

ah, it's that time of year that makes me lament the course taken by the Yuri on Ice anime.

I miss that property.

Nothing will ever match the original. This comes surprisingly close.

It’s kind of like some of the Portishead songs, where you really do have to have that hard life experience to bring it through and evoke the deeper aspects of the song.

English Manga Publisher Seven Seas has temporarily closed down their Direct to Consumer Store Front

• There is currently no word on when the store front will be returning or why they initially closed it

(To add, I don't think they even announced they closed it to begin with)

Watching this 120 minutes recording from 1993 in 2026 is like watching two hours of life performances from the 1960s at that point. Talk about surreal. So many great performances.

Just as an addendum: this makes me think that they’ve had such a reduced customer base for a while that they’re just trying to cut their losses even more. I suspect a lot of regular folks long abandoned, and others have since then as well.
