This is getting wild.

The states of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and 14 others have just asked for permission to file THEIR amicus brief in IL v. Trump.
The States of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina and 14 additional States
respectfully move for leave to submit the attached amicus curiae brief in support of Defendants
and their opposition to Plaintiffs’ requested temporary restraining order and preliminary
injunction. Proposed amici are States with a vested interest in federalism, the relationship between
States and the federal government, and deploying the National Guard. We also each have a vital
interest in supporting the President and Congress in enacting and enforcing valid immigration
laws. Every State has a responsibility to protect our citizens.
The federalization of States’ National Guard units is a matter of profound public
importance, as it directly implicates the delicate balance of power between state and federal
governments—a true cornerstone of Federalism. States generally maintain authority over their
National Guard units, allowing governors to deploy them for state-specific needs, such as disaster
response or public safety. Federalization of state National Guard units without gubernatorial

The White House Antifa Roundtable is one of the best displays I’ve seen of this-is-how-bad-it’s-gotten — just a sewer of open fascism, dementia, morons and freaks, and incoherent rage.

I don't like him personally, but David Simon on AI is the final word on the subject.

I love standalone continuity stories and this one was certainly fun. I'd love to see a five years later epilogue piece or run with it.

Not as good as DCeased, but still a lot of fun.

I know I'm reading too much into it, but I'm still getting some original Dragon Ball tournament vibes from the whole thing which is making me smile.

The writing on the wall in clear letters for me was "I don't want Obamacare, I've got the ACA!"

And then this year seeing people learn so many state-level health programs are just rebranded Medicare and what they're starting to lose from that.

Just so incurious.

Truth about Cats & Dogs is a regular in my replay list. I absoluvely love it and she was perfect in that on so many levels.

My then significant other and I absolutely loved the awkwardness of the phone scene, and how horrified so many other people seemed to react to it. Prudes, I tell ya!

I know now that it was stupid of me to be glad that Biden and Democrats worked hard to make sure that a lot of these areas got taken care of during his term with projects to revitalize those areas and lift people up.

I was wrong.

Checked out a new series from @darkhorse.com today. They're doing more 4-issue series these days, so books feel a bit denser and more dialogue-driven, which is a plus. And the added benefit of some stories not overstaying their welcome.

Second, a pretty good piece of new music from The Midnight from this year utilizing footage from 1986's "Stand By Me" film that makes me want to revisit it again.

Two bits of music this morning.

First, my god if you needed a reminder of why you crushed on Winona Ryder in the 90s, look no further.

Thanks. It's how I've tried to navigate it my entire life. I just wish there was more aimed at my bracket in this realm, though I know it's a mix of:

1) they become live-action projects
2) the manga doesn't get picked up in English

So I get limited.

I had zero idea what to expect going in and I ended up absolutely loving it.

That said, I'm not convinced it can carry that energy through a full season, even if there is a ton of manga. still, worth taking a chance on folks.

Since the subject of the decline of Crunchyroll is on the menu, my personal hottake is that while the Sony buyout has been the biggest blow to their quality as an anime streaming service/licensor, the decline of Crunchyroll as a brand probably started when they got sold to AT&T and Warner
