Royal Mail in the UK has now resumed mail to America after the de minimis changes.

TangoPunk will continue to have physical copies. It costs more for me, but I won't change the price.

If you stumble across this post from searching 'de minimis' here's more info: www.royalmail.com/usapersonalu...

Embracing Cyclemania for MS-DOS.

A super-memorable FMV racing game, even if nobody else seemed to like it!

The article itself, back in Issue 4 when my writing ability was even worse than it is now.

Released on two DVDs, due to using FMVs for each song and using the maximum amount of the brand new DVD technology as they possibly could, the game included an option for Append Discs on the main menu.

Konami’s beatmania series popularised this expansion disc content, and Jaleco hoped to follow suit, however no append discs were ever released, making this option useless.

The highlight of Stepping Selection is the soundtrack and background FMV. Some songs have official music videos, and it’s truly nostalgic seeing time-appropriate bands such as Steps, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears playing out. It’s when you come across the selection icon for Ghostbusters that things feel amiss in the best possible way.

Some months ago I went through an obsession with one of Penn's podcast episodes. 'Penn's Sunday School - Why Was There A Horse?'

I recommend it, it's from when Piff & Jandro appeared on Fool Us, but everything went wrong, half cut from the broadcast, except the card at the end had blood on it.

Just a heads up - It says "Please check the external url for a complete download with manual and packaging scans" and then you click the URL and it takes you to Super Chinese 3.

This is fully mysterious to me, I've never heard of the game!

It's likely 'Naxat Hall' (as in a pachinko hall), but I don't remember any looking like this on the PC Engine. The only pachinko RPGs I remember on the PC Engine are ones by Coconuts Japan and didn't have that colorful arrows UI.

"Naxat Hole" a Pachinko RPG from 1990 for PC Engine, unreleased game or what??? I know Naxat released "CD Bishoujo Pachinko" but it was 1995. I will keep an eye out for whether this was reworked or renamed to something else...maybe I just missed it looking through Naxat list on Surugaya #pcengine

I always love to support people who are relatable. You can easily tell which people have a sincere interest in their hobbies!

It’s like going back to the days of GaiaOnline except this time around I actually have a little spending money.

Donatelli Volume 3 PORTFOLIOS
DONATELLI MODEL
"When I read the cover carefully, it says "Unlimited
reproduction rights." So does that mean you can just
go off and make other works with this as you please?
But then it says "Not to be used with sexually explicit
material," so you're not allowed to use it blatantly
for H-stuff. Well, that's only natural. Then what are
we supposed to do with it!? I feel like shouting,
but this is an American product - over there, the
land is vast, so I'm sure some people'll find it
helpful.

As for the content, the image viewer is
well-made and very easy to use. At the lower
right of the screen, there are Zoom and Copy
functions. If you use Zoom, the lady's nice
body whooshes bigger. If you want to look
around the chest area, slide the bar on the right
or at the bottom to move left/right or up/down as you like.
If you hit Copy, you can quickly send it to another directory.
It works exactly like the manual says.

After looking at lots of adult CD-ROMs, seeing something like this makes you think, "Ahh, the appeal of clothes," doesn't it? Nice. If only the photos were a bit more realistic—around FM-TOWNS level. Agencies like HoriPro or Oscar ought to put out this sort of thing."

David Bowie Interactive - "Click the camera, and
Mr DB becomes the narrator, speaking over a still
image. It feels more like a publicity slide from the
record company. Clicking the woman in front
doesn't make her do anything sexy.

Only at this point did I realise the three portraits at
the lower right are the menu, so I tried pressing
them. Then I get pushed straight back to the
elevator.

A phone call comes in: "Bowie, you there?" or "Call me more, ooh…"—that kind of thing.
We get perfectly well who the star is here.

Click the telescope and you can peek at the building in front. A woman waves her hand, so you can't help clicking; then the billboard instantly turns into a promotional video. It keeps playing the new song "JUMP."

One day there'll actually be a social media platform that doesn't restrict text unnecessarily, actually let you attach more than four images, and doesn't crop pictures in really annoying ways.

One day.

Maybe in 2030...

As seen in CD-ROM Scholar for Windows Vol 2.
I think everyone wants to play games as long as they know how to play. It's just that explaining them is a hassle.

It would be so much easier if someone could explain it to me verbally. Well, it probably won't work that easily. That may be why CD-ROMs and the like are overwhelmingly dominated by men. Women don't often read explanations. Just reading them can be quite annoying.

I'm surprised they didn't elaborate on that part then!

They showcased the music and art galleries, but that part was mysteriously unexplained. Guess they're saving it for an upcoming trailer?

If you can make your own little Ace Attorney scenes, that sounds really cool!

I’m not interested in the online prize side of things (because let’s face it, that kind of connectivity just leads to region locking) but I would absolutely love a mini pachislot machine powered by USB.

Oh my gosh, I only just found the lore behind the DDR song Silent Hill.

"According to an interview with Thomas Howard, Silent Hill's original title was Christmas is Here. It was renamed by KONAMI because they did not want the word "Christmas" in the song title."

"Unique games await in this world. From the tower’s library, follow the corridor and step outside. Suddenly a beach should appear before your eyes."

That's all the story that's provided. It's up to your imagination why a ghost boy is leading you out of a pyramid towards a beach with a naked lady.
tangopunk.com
I wish I knew! In the game it's inside of 'Parallel World.' The magazine explains it as:

"A slightly eerie tower looms. When you slip inside, a boy-like shadow flits across the screen for an instant. What could it be? Perhaps a ghost that will guide you." (1/?)

The referenced image from Viper Puzzle Paradise, a Japanese-only game that came with the magazine Scholar for Windows Vol. 2.
TEN LIPS
It's just Minesweeper in reverse.

You want to click the mines. The mines are lips.

Nobody knows why there are lips on the floor,
but at least you know there are ten of them.

The ghost boy leaves the mansion and heads out into the Jungle Night.

JUNGLE NIGHT
On the silhouette of the lady, click the squares in
a repeating colour order of :
Purple → Yellow → Green to reach the goal.

It's more of a maze game, and is easier if you
work backwards mentally before setting out.

Oh, and by the way - if the next squares you need to click on are already black, that's a QuickTime problem! Try 86Box and make sure there are no previous QuickTime DLLs on the system.

Now that the ghost boy has travelled through the jungle, he reaches Lizards!

LIZARDS
Just click the lizards as fast as you can before they chew pieces off the lady's blanket! It's like whack-a-mole, but the low framerate makes it hard to aim your cursor, and you have to click lizards for around a minute straight before it considers you a winner.

You can't bop the lizards on their way back after getting a piece of cloth, only on their approach.

I found that it's best to aim for the lizard's head rather than the body. That way, if they suddenly jump forward before your click registers, you'll still hit them.
Upon winning, a brief QuickTime video shows the ghost boy reuniting with the lady, and then you're back to the chalice screen. If the game crashed here... that's the sign of previous QuickTime DLLs being installed. Time for a fresh installation of Windows!
