Yup, this season Mme will be mostly* scoping the details for such buzz words & downsizing.

*In the exceptional circumstances when she'll consider buying clothes, having sworn purchasing abstinence.

2nd gen immigrants held slightly less positive views than 1st gen immigrants when asked about the better/worse effects of immigration on the economy, cultural life & the country as a place to live, however, their views were still more positive compared to those born in the UK to UK-born parents.

Oh, down a time-limited rabbit hole.
Using 2 recent waves of The European Social Survey Humphrey et al for NatCen (2024) found 1st & 2nd gen immigrants hold similarly positive attitudes towards the amount of immigration the UK should allow, compared to those born in the UK to UK-born parents.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵
