Eastenders was the hottest soap in the 80s. The marketing crossover was massive. If I remember rightly, it even got played on the show (as part of the plot). BBC repeated this with Anita Dobson’s Anyone can fall in love the same year

This also runs headlong into other freelancers having lower costs and charging subsequently lower rates. Without a strong brand or USP it’s a meat grinder at the lower end

every time fursuit pricing talk happens it's clear that the average person has no idea what hourly rate they would have to charge as a freelancer not just to break even for *all* their basic living expenses + taxes + insurance, but also to make a profit for savings, retirement, fun (gasp), whatever

I did my first haunted standup tonight. Was really nervous going on in front of an audience of ghosts, but it was fine. Got a huge “WOOOO!” as soon as I went on stage. Couple of “BOO!” later on which was a bit rude tho
