I looked through more photos of the event on Getty’s website just now from other photographers, but there were no photos showing any obvious bruising or makeup coverups, so it was probably odd shadowing or camera lens spots. 🤷‍♀️

Not if they can’t reliably find a suitable vein to draw from on the arm. Remember, Trump is actually obese, no matter how he tries to hide it. Being fat complicates the ability to finding surface veins.

Hand veins, particularly the dorsal metacarpal veins on the back of the hands, are used for venipuncture as alternative sites when more preferred arm veins (like those in the antecubital fossa) are unavailable or unsuitable.

He’s very overweight in actuality, remember, for an 80-year old man. It’s hard to find a vein through a 1/2-inch” layer (+) of fat that probably surrounds most of his arms & body.

Trump is grossly overweight, that it’s very difficult even for an experienced nurse to find a suitable vein.

He hides it with his custom tailored suits & 3” shoulder pads, but imagine locating a vein through 1/2 inch+ or more of flab on his arms.

Apropos of nothing in particular this morning, I've been told that, in essence, there are two things that physicians can't do at the White House medical unit: MRIs and surgeries. Virtually anything else can be done there if you have to or want to.
