Garland denied a seat on SCOTUS.
Biden selects him as Attorney General to cheer him up.

One of the worst reasons ever. At top levels of government, compassion should take a back seat to competence & zeal.

People extolling Biden's nature should reconsider their assessment of the sentimental fool.

Stupid, or as one person put it:

whom we delicately describe as “low-information voters”

Similar to Turning Point USA's Professor Watchlist, which succeeded in getting randos to threaten faculty.

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

Windows 11 continues to impress with users having to click *much more* to reveal information (or options/tools) along with layouts that have about half the icons and lines of information compared to W10.

Horrible for power users. Great for a customer base that wants a simple U/I.

It's awful.

We passed the point of no return in June when troops were deployed in Los Angeles. ICE, DHS, and the military intimidating and brutalizing citizens are part of a transition to a dictatorship.

What force is going to stop it?

MAGA SCOTUS?
powerless Congressional Dems?
corrupted 2026 elections?

These people want to reform the administrative state, tear out benefits and do eugenics, and racially remake the countries population.

There is no deliverism here, it's raw transformational politics. There will never be carrots, it's just sticks all the way down.

Should the New York Times be sold to Pennysaver and its editors sent to work in Amazon warehouses? It depends on who you ask.

The collapse of the Establishment Media (major networks, weekly news magazines, big-city newspapers) - which informed and *influenced* the public - has left us with a scattered system of information and assessment (of diminished scope), and opened the door to vibe-based politics as a substitute.

NYT: Did Poland attack Germany, or was it the other way around?

Depends on the narrator.

One asserts that Poland attacked the radio station at Gleiwitz.
Another says Germany attacked the Polish village of Makra.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In a normal world, how would that typically happen? Can these people be arrested by local authorities?

The police should be able to do that. Does the law allow for it? And if it does, do they have the spine to do so.?

Aside from the GOP capitulating completely, there are Democrats who helped usher this in.

Gavin Newsom – helped get Roberts and Alito on SCOTUS
Joe Biden – deciding to run for re-election
Merrick Garland – slow-walked prosecution of Trump

With hindsight, it appears that we passed the point of no return in June, when troops were deployed in Los Angeles.

I applaud those still up for the fight, but the fact is nothing is getting better, all that's happening are activities that delay the full implementation of a dictatorship.

Clowns that unfortunately use the legal system to harass people. When is the goddamn "legal system" going to address this nonsense? Where are the disbarments, sanctions, and other penalties they can use to rein in this corrupt use of the law?

Elsewhere, someone commented on this and wondered how foreign leaders and intelligence services process this insanity. My guess is that they hope he burns out. What else can they do?
