Genuinely think IMF WEO titles are the best six monthly snapshot of elite economic vibes.
Translating this as ‘quite confusing but feels bad’.

Trump was caught on a hot mic arranging a meeting between a foreign head of state and Eric Trump, who runs the Republican's family business.

Isn’t this exactly the sort of thing GOP members of Congress used to care about? www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

Every time the administration members say “I haven’t read it”, reporters MUST respond, “Then your staff didn’t prepare you for this interview. Perhaps your staff is only telling you what they think you want to hear.”

As I read it, the 9th Circuit's administrative stay of the 1st TRO in Portland allows federalization of the Oregon National Guard troops for now *but still bars deployment of any NG troops in Portland.* That's because 2d TRO was not appealed & barred deployments of any federalized NG troops.

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

This political theater with the commanding officers of the American military is one of the most dangerous things I have ever seen. That it happened is appalling. How the generals react to it may be a critical juncture for American democracy. So far, it seems to have fallen flat.

There remain many people of good will in the U.S. govt, men and women who believe that

–decisions about vaccination should be based on science;

–the former FBI director up on bogus charges should not be perp walked:
