Here we are again. Mediocre opinions and wit. Seattle. 🏳️‍🌈

Also, it needs to be said again and again: This is OUR fucking house, not his.
Breaking: Known liar lied again.
Breaking News: President Trump is having the White House’s entire East Wing demolished to make way for his $200 million ballroom. The project is far more extensive than he initially let on.
Trump Will Demolish Entire White House East Wing for Ballroom: Live Updates

This doesn’t look like someone who plans on leaving.
NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.

a functional press would, every single day, repeatedly, across numerous paragraphs in every story about him, make it clear that this is indisputably the most corrupt President in U.S. history
Trump: "It's awfully strange to make a decision where I'm paying myself. But I was damaged very greatly and any money I would get I would give to charity."
Listening to @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social on NPR and he’s just so bad at this. Messaging on this shut down is so easy, yet he just aimlessly rambles.

Doing my part for the buses! Let’s fix the L8!!!! @fixthel8.bsky.social
A common excuse we hear for SDOT's refusal to install bus lanes on Denny is that WSDOT could be opposing them. However, @juliareedwa.bsky.social checked, and WSDOT is “unconcerned” about potential impacts to I-5 traffic. The state’s ready to talk bus lanes on Denny, lets get them built!
I’m gonna come back around to journaling soon…
This broke containment and the bots, trolls, and other weirdos have arrived. Muting and limiting interaction. WHEN are we getting private accounts @bsky.app??
My boss was not in Seattle for years, so every time the first sunny day of spring approached I warned him the Seattle team is about to disappear.
Not letting FOMO drive my after-work itinerary has been a game changer. If it wasn’t an enthusiastic yes, it was a no thanks. Result: Each evening has had cute moments, reuniting with friends I haven’t seen in years, saw Jane Krakowski in “Oh Mary!,” getting enough sleep, and no hangovers!
Thanks bb. Angles 😉
Like Seattle, this city is SO easy to love when the weather is nice.
Clearly @rollingstone.com is looking to cut costs by forcing people like @timdickinson.bsky.social to resign and then they won’t backfill, or they will with a much cheaper person with less experience. Tale as old as time.
I can’t tell you how many times I had to go stand out in the elements for a non-story at 10pm because “news doesn’t happen in the newsroom” so an RTO mandate for a national, text-based organization is STUPID.
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.
You thought open offices were a nightmare before…

This is why the inflatable costumes works so well -- it works the same way calling them "weird" or "creepy" did. It disrupts their narrative, and makes them seem pathetic rather than cool-and-cruel.
You need to see this:

“The show of force is the point. They want these images to be out…The Department of Homeland Security is walking around Chicago with a film crew.” @jacobsoboroff.bsky.social

We don't throw enough pies anymore
On this day in queer history: Oct 14, 1977

During a live TV appearance in Iowa, anti-gay activist Anita Bryant was hit with a pie in protest of her “Save Our Children” campaign. A sweet moment of queer resistance.

Flew home from Palm Springs yesterday. Up early for NYC today. My earbuds didn’t make the bag switch. Going retro.

Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.
SCOOP: The Bureau of Land Management says the largest solar project in Nevada — the Esmeralda 7 mega-farm — has been canceled

The news was quietly dropped via a sudden website update with no public word from any of the companies involved or a statement from the agency

Esmeralda 7 Solar Project Has Been Canceled, BLM Says
It would have delivered a gargantuan 6.2 gigawatts of power.

Jonathan Choe to Trump: "Another group right now that is behind antifa and working with antifa very closely based on the research that we have right now that we're gonna give to you and your team are the Democratic Socialists of America."
She is a shameless cockroach but even I am surprised she weaseled her way into the goddamned White House.
Brandi Kruse at today's "antifa violence roundtable" at the White House: "This is one of the reasons I recovered from it. By the way, it’s much better to not have TDS. I’m happier, healthier, more successful. I even think I got a little more attractive after I got rid of my Trump Derangement System"

if every democrat doesn’t use the “we took freedom of speech away” on every messaging apparatus they have every single day for the next 4 years assume they want to lose
Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."
