There is an entire PhD about the 21st Century to be written among the intersection of three events in the last 24 hours: Dick Cheney's death; McClatchy (key to disproving Iraq War lies) closes its DC bureau; & the US elects first Muslim mayor of NYC and first statewide official ever (in VA).
Can't present Articles of Impeachment if Congress isn't in session ...
It's an example of "crabs in the bucket mentality" or "tall poppy syndrome" where people in similar circumstances are manipulated into a toxic worldview that causes them to keep one another from succeeding.
I had the same experience. My weekend was great, filled with fun family time, productive projects, and watching the Bills beat the Chiefs with a group of friends.

Then, Monday morning came 'round and that black rectangle of rage sucked me back in.
Trump is intentionally making people -- children! -- ho hungry to feed their lust for power.

These people are sadists who feel bigger when they put other people down.

Who looks at this and thinks, "Yep, that's the kind of leader we need!"?
The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.

They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.

They’re refusing.

Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.

Starvation as a policy choice.

In order to help prevent people from going hungry due to the SNAP shutdown, I am seeking legislative approval of a $1 million allocation to @feedmorewny.org to purchase 354,000 pounds of food for local food pantries. 140,000 county residents rely on SNAP. We must help them in their time of need.
Here's a thought: if you can't run a profitable business without endangering lives and destroying the environment, you should shut the business down.

We are your externality.
Alabama has suspended methane monitoring above mines forced by the feds after a fatal home explosion. Its excuse? Monitoring for the gas may be too costly for coal companies. Joe Pizarchik, the nation's former top coal regulator, told me that's not true. insideclimatenews.org/news/2910202...
Add this to the list of systems to be destroyed following the post-Trump Truth and Reconciliation trials.
We warned this exact thing would happen. This is why dozens of human rights groups have been calling to BanFacialrecognition.com for years
At times when I was growing up my parents relied on SNAP and the the food bank to feed us. Thanks to these resources we never went hungry.

Join me in taking action to help folks threatened with hunger during this shameful government shutdown.

You can donate, volunteer, or be an advocate.

So the president took a dementia test, and then they administered an MRI. Where’s the media on this?

Millions of Americans are already learning that their health insurance costs for 2026 are going way up.

I want to hear from you so we can make this impossible for the GOP to ignore the consequences of their policies.

If your premiums are going up, reply below and please share your story.

Yesterday we talked a little bit about SNAP ending and how everyone who can, should give back to their communities. I'm going to spend a little time today talking about what to give.

Trump can throw a temper tantrum and try to get this ad pulled off of TV, but the words of Ronald Reagan cannot be silenced - and it's clear as day that even Reagan would think what Trump was doing right now on trade was completely asinine.

Daylight Saving Time is maybe the dumbest thing we comply with.
DST is why most Americans wake by alarm in darkness. Permanent Standard Time would let us sleep longer and awaken naturally to sunlight, for health!

Republicans in Congress have abandoned their duty to you and The Constitution.
Mike Johnson keeps them home yet again instead of working to reopen the govt bc Tr*mp doesn't want the Epstein Files released.
The destruction of our democracy is squarely on the shoulders of GOP in Congress.

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

Wow! Very impressive for them to do all of this in 2020 while Trump was president and they weren't in the government! Very normal post from the President of the United States!

If That’s a donation, it goes to the treasury and only congress can decide how to spend it. No such (lawful) thing as private payment of government obligation.
