i said this a few weeks ago, but a reminder that windows 10 being "end of life" does not mean your operating system will immediately stop working. even if the OS itself doesn't get updates, the apps you use most often (the browser.) still are. more important to have adblock + firewall these days

this bodega nearby the PT place has funny drawings of nacho libre and Napoleon dynamite outside and I find it rather charming

a shame there's no cats roaming around, it feels like a prime Bodega Cats kind of place

In this clip of a 1995 Computer Chronicles, we not only get some lovely showcases of the PS1 and Saturn, but also brutal honesty from Stewart as he considers console vs PC gaming.

"It's nice to know when you come home from the store having just spent $50 on a new game, it'll work."

RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

A massive loss 💔

Now try doing the same test without using X Premium.

You're giving Elon Musk $12/month to get that amount of engagement on Twitter. If you didn't subscribe, you'd be getting literally 1% of that engagement.

This is a terrible argument.

Me: I just don't understand why I can't just out-think my anxiety and emotions and simply react and respond in the most ideal way every single time and never feel bad

Finished the original Red Faction today.

I had played a demo of the game (the one with the giant glass house as a tech demo) a long time ago, and I've been on kind of a retro boomshoot kick lately, so

It's a bit too tough towards the end but otherwise it's pretty damn solid

I like how the SG-1000 and ColecoVision are placed in different generations, despite being released less than a year apart with identical hardware

I get it, the NES was a paradigm shift in the west, and the SG-1000 came out on the same day as the Famicom, but it just shows how silly the concept is

Honestly the way Wikipedia defines generations of gaming consoles is stupidly convoluted and needs to be changed

I keep confusing them even now, such as me thinking the 360/PS3/Wii was the sixth generation
tonyacatte.bsky.social
Was looking at a previous article I wrote late last year for something, and saw something that bothered me.

Now I'm editing out every time I referred to gaming generations by Wikipedia's goofy standards and replacing it with the platform or era instead (i.e. "Xbox 360 era" instead of "7th gen")

A Resident Evil-inspired survival horror game made by the folks who made Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare. And it's surprisingly alright!
