Although issued by @01firstsecond.bsky.social and featuring teenagers, Rhiannon is as finely observed as any adult drama. Kiara Brinkman and Sean Chiki detail a 1990s summer for Rhiannon, at 12 just finding out about life. "It’s masterful".

The earliest Jonah Hex tales by John Albano, Tony DeZuniga, and Michael Fleisher are great Westerns, and all found in Weird Western Tales: Jonah Hex. Art fans are treated to some magnificent guest artists.

I almost want to see what bullshit excuse he comes up with to get around the unequivocal language of the constitution. But I don't think he'll be alive long enough for this to be an issue.
Oh, that's very useful for something I'm writing at the moment.
It says he can't.
Donald Trump keeps flirting with the idea of serving a third term. Here's what you need to know about what the US Constitution says about that
Can Trump Serve a Third Term as President? What the 22nd Amendment Says
President Donald Trump has again flirted with extending his stay at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Wasn't the last one "the lanyard class"? (Courtesy of that walking pile of nonsense, Maurice Glasman.)
I see what you mean. I'm pretty sure the strings are in fact a synth - there seems to be no Bangles playing any instruments on the track.

Creative Writing With Miss Mary Mac supplies the basics of writing concisely and simply explained. Mary McInerney brings considerable teaching experience and it's beautifully illustrated by @rivkahlafille.bsky.social @01firstsecond.bsky.social

For me, I read little in the way of 'classic' children's literature (didn't get to Lewis till adulthood, have still never read Kingsley) and classic adult novels didn't do it for me (late to Austen, still find Dickens a slog), but I devoured books on aviation and the Second World War.
The introduction to @effjayem.bsky.social's The Intergalactic Playground was revelatory to me on this - she makes clear how much 'kids don't read' discourse is really 'kids don't read what gatekeepers think they ought to be reading'.
I’ve pitched a project I really want to do and had zero interest so far: celebrating the history of books that aren’t “real books”. Rather than the usual “children’s canon”. Because those were my favourites growing up. And I suspect I’m not alone. My love of reading comes entirely from those.

Joe Sacco's The Once and Future Riot distils the complex ethnic and religious tensions in a region of India's Uttar Pradesh. " a clarion call for the de-escalation of political tension the world over, lest we plunge headfirst into the abyss"

Today we review another batch of Hiroya Oku's thrilling #gantz. Over five volumes there's a city massacre, dinosaurs, teen romance and armoured knights. 13 is "the best action volume of the series to date". @darkhorse.com

Blame whoever it was who finally forced Scott into making the movie he'd spent more than two decades a voiding?
That said, at least Maximus' wife has a dramatic role to play, even if it is the old fridged wife's role of motivating a male character to revenge. Arishat seems solely there to say 'look, we've given you a woman with agency, isn't that enough?'
Though a single word would, of course, be more dialogue than the wife in Gladiator I.
I had a whole blogpost mapped out about how shit it really is, and never wrote it. I will do it at one point, but will now have to watch the movie again before doing so, and like you, I don't wanna.

Enormously popular from the 1980s in Japa, Tsukasa Hojo's City Hunter has never been fully translated into English. @abramscomicarts.bsky.social have now begun that process via their Kana imprint. "smart, funny, well thought out and dynamically drawn".

The Ephemerata is Carol Tyler's exploration of grief. "Tyler’s observational intelligence, artistic innovation, emotional honesty and sheer talent make this a heavyweight graphic novel that needs to be taken seriously come awards season". @fantagraphics.bsky.social
She'll be gone by the end of the week. And back in 2028 as an MP.
