It's been really, really nice seeing the Catholic social justice tradition in the US feel like it's empowered to spread its wings again without risking censure after a long time of being suppressed by US Catholic leadership, and it's exactly what I was hoping for from Pope Bob.

Fr Larry is just an all around good dude. After my grandmother’s funeral and reception (we had both at the parish), he and the Deacon stayed after to clean the whole parish. They’ve been Godsends to my family through immense times of grief and don’t charge us a dime.

The sustained assault on public empathy is bigger than genuine skepticism of performative empathy.

1. It doesn’t make a lick of sense to protest Kamala Harris’ book tour. There are multiple people responsible for what’s happening in Gaza right now and making direct decisions to that effect who deserve to catch hell.
