We should talk way more about how Canada is basically five banks, five big insurance companies, three telcos, two grocery chains, a handful of big REITs and some mining concerns.

The deeply entrenched power of our corporate overlords is a big reason why Canadian politics & culture is the way it is.

Very deadly but I my great grandmother got it in her nursing home and survived. She was like 88 at the time and had advanced dementia so 🤷‍♂️

If you ever wonder why we don’t make any progress on climate change, just look at spending.

Canada spends more per year in oil and gas subsidies from our public purse than a 10-year commitment to public transit.

Postal workers are standing up to protect public service — and they’re right.

Canada Post shouldn’t run its own private company to compete with itself - while cutting services and good union jobs.

Keep it public. Keep it fair.

Oh 100%!!!! They have proven themselves to be net goods for the country, hell they essentially created the modern Canadian identity. In my humble opinion the provinces have too much sovereignty, the premiers need to shut up and be grateful with their already enormous powers.

Such a bad faith argument from the Premiers. Yes, the nonwithstanding clause was the compromise for the Provinces to accept the constitution and charter BUT it was supposed to counteract judicial overreach NOT to be used preemptively to avoid Charter Challenges to legislation. They're abusing it.
5 premiers urge Carney to withdraw court submission on notwithstanding clause | CBC News
Five premiers say Ottawa must withdraw its recent call for limits on the notwithstanding clause because it amounts to a "complete disavowal" of the bargain that spawned the Charter of Rights and Freed...

There's a distinct pattern to the legislation Carney's government keeps tabling.

1) Vague language that leaves a lot to discretion
2) Replacing warrants, court orders, and evidence for 'suspicion'
3) Increased federal power & surveillance
4) Stifle debate.

All of this should concern you.
