Hey, anybody I know on here have experience with nonfiction book editing and/or ghostwriting?

Looking to help out a friend find some info for an interesting project. Could turn into a good gig for a freelancer.

I'm sure there are some people in my orbit on here who work in that space.

For years, Meta has blocked Canadians from accessing news content on its platforms. And for years, Canada has done nothing about this.

An interesting thing about making art is that it really scrambles the whole debate about authorial intention, but it doesn't make the issue go away at all.

Try to make stuff every day, and most of it will be bad.

HOWEVER: If you revisit your art from a couple years ago, it will often make you feel better. It was less bad than you remember. And you've come a long way since then, because you've been making art every day.

I think the story of much of the past 20 years is software engineers thinking that because they can write code, they can do anything.

LLMs are the latest and one of the most extreme versions. LLMs can write code well. They do just about everything else to a much, much lower level of quality.
LLMs are creating two productivity traps; work slop and summary addiction.

1. Work slop is glossy filler + buzzwords that still needs a redo or the trash.

2. Relying on AI summaries feels efficient until you realize nobody understands the actual work. Work slop then drives even more summarizing.
