I don’t have anything uplifting or consoling to contribute. Here is a picture of Moochie Moo.
That’s the pragmatic stoicism I voted for right there 🇨🇦
Yup, the US has the worlds largest economy because of immigrants, not despite it.
That’s a short list 😂 could throw in a few Czars and Bourbons
Don’t forget the reckless big bets, like AI rn.
Looks like the next Sinema/Manchin at best.

Important THREAD. Really important.
1. Graham Platner is an oyster farmer and Marine Corps veteran who’s running for the United States Senate in Maine. He’s trying to knock off Susan Collins. He’s presented himself as a common-man candidate who stands against oligarchy, genocide and the oppression of the little guy.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.
Maga hat stew for supper.

I’ve had him pegged as a liar
CNN confirms that multiple sources suggest Graham Platner knew his tattoo was a Nazi symbol years prior to launching his campaign — and is now blatantly lying about it.

Cold comfort in being the object lesson that helped make that possible…
This one goes into my “mind your own body” bucket. We could all use a bit more MYOB, especially from transphobes, homophobes and forced birthers.
I for one have never come across a trekkie who aligns politically with the Terran empire.
Wishing you well from Canada habibi. Thanks for the hope. 🙏
They’ll try to seize election sites with this lie as pretext. It could work. Maga blames Dems and Biden for trumps covid lockdowns. The asymmetrical power of shamelessness and our collective inability to deal with it vol. 38592
So when Trump was president throughout all of 2020, the Biden administration went back in time to rig the election so they could come into existence?

Is it like a Looper situation?
Cool. Release the Epstein Files.
I’m anti-nimby and support alternative housing but ideally we’d have a baseline that prevents a poverty class and tiers of living. Universal basic income should be a Canadian value. 🇨🇦 💪

It's not lost on me that the part of the White House we are destroying is the part that has to do with women's history in the White House.
NEW: NBC News confirms that the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, on the east side of the White House, has been destroyed as part of the demolition of the East Wing.

I didn't expect austerity to be reversed over night. I absolutely did not expect baffling anti immigration policies, more ineptitude managing small boat arrivals and support for people whose response to migrants who look different to them is to wave a flag
I don't think ppl are 'disappointed with the pace of change'. I think they're disappointed in right wing policies and the absence of an economic plan, or at least economic principles. Labour are cooked. They just don't get it

There are two critiques of virtue signaling, a) the people who find the signaling insufficient and b) those who dislike the virtues being signaled. It’s important to know that the right wingers in group b are constantly trying to form an alliance with folks in group a.

I sincerely know less than nothing about this nba gambling ring dealio. I do know that in a moment when powerful mostly white men are stealing from everybody at scale and with breathtaking gall, it’s odd that these are the faces I’m seeing.

Retired intelligence analysts confirm what the political scientists are telling us — and what the world outside is telling us — the goal of these people is the end of law, the end of democracy, and the end of a recognizable republic.

When my family moved over here there weren’t strict borders. The US essentially had open borders for most of its existence and that’s exactly why it is the powerhouse it is today.

Immigration is good and should be encouraged, not limited.
America had open borders until 1924. Racism and corporate greed changed that | Daniel Mendiola
The primary justifications for early immigration laws were xenophobia, eugenics, and overt racism. Understanding the history of immigration is essential
