I conceptually understand that icing is like the offside rule in soccer but I have no idea what constitutes a foul in hockey or why they kept having the little mini face-offs in the mini circles but they broke like four sticks. Shoulda been more fighting.

RESULT: New Orleans has a new mayor. Helena Moreno, a Democrat known as a progressive member of the city council, easily won today’s mayoral race and cleared the 50 percent threshold to avoid a runoff. She’ll replace the retiring Democratic Mayor, Cantrell.

Dems floated a narrow bill to fund the military, which can’t move because the House isn’t in session. Meanwhile, DoD is now going to spend funds not appropriated by Congress to ensure military paychecks continue.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC
