Just a friendly mountain biking dad. He/Him, ally, free dad hugs. Technically every joke I tell is a dad joke.

Is #trailbuildsunday a thing? Here’s 3 features we worked on today: 2 berm updates and what we called Dean’s Drop. Named for the builder who said “wouldn’t it be cool if…” We collectively said “Hell yes” and immediately got to work. #mtb #mountainbike #trailwork #trailbuilding
Traditions are just peer pressure from dead people.

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.
The wheel is still spinning but the hamster is dead.
Now I can’t stop thinking of ways to utilize that massive downtube cavity. Burritos, beers, water bottles, a baguette, tent poles, tools, tubes, folding saw…
Eventually there are going to be a lot of e-bike frames using standards that are no longer supported, meaning once the battery or motor is done there won’t be replacement parts. If this keeps more bikes out of landfills I’m all for it. Plus, think of how many burritos you could fit in the downtube!
I can’t argue with that!
My two biggest motivators for going full sus were smoothing out the trails when I have my little one on a KRS setup and progressing at the bike park. It doesn’t matter how much front squish you have, braking bumps and harsh landings are murder on a hardtail.
Thanks, I’m used to a bigger bottle (or two) so I’ll be riding with a pack more often on this bike
Uphill was more surprising, I found climbing to be smoother with the rear wheel tracking over bumps instead of hanging up (East Coast Jank, yay). Downhill was the biggest change, after picking a few lines I had never tried before and letting go of the brakes I had a couple “I GET it now!” moments
If you only change one part, is it still the same bike? Here’s ~95% of the parts earlier this week
New frame day! After riding hardtails exclusively since the mid 90s I finally Transitioned (get it?) to a full suspension #mtb and I don’t regret it. #mountainbike #bikesky #
I don’t know of any swaps, but Bikes Not Bombs will take donated parts if you’re just looking to offload them.
But my legs will be glad when my bike is suddenly 40lbs lighter.
For any cycling parents out there I can’t recommend a Kids Ride Shotgun-style seat enough. The bonding time in the saddle is unlike anything else and I am genuinely sad that my little one will probably be too big to ride like this next year. #mtb #mountainbike #kidsrideshotgun

There’s a common feeling across the U.S. right now, a sense of helplessness. Many people want to do more but feel like they can’t. Remember: every action you take pushes the resistance forward.

Every action, no matter how small it might seem, makes a difference. We've put together a guide at savedemocracy.info/act with practical suggestions of how we can ALL pitch in.
