With the addition of a few recent releases, my list of RPG Maker titles is up to 115 entries total thus far.

It's kind of crazy how many good games have come out recently, with Look Outside being a big hit.

Ark's Wonder Dungeon's Evil Empress DLC and Update 1.6 launched! Feel like it improved some common pitfalls and added a decent amount of content. Unsure if I'll update it again beyond bug fixes, but some of the backend stuff was optimized, so... we'll see?
share this to scare anyone that thinks space is boring
I made this for a quick joke a while ago and felt like it might be useful in general, so here you go:
Hell Maiden has been the big standout so far thanks to the amazing artwork, and I'm counting BLANKSWORD as part of Next Fest even though it's technically not on the banner.

had an AWD dream where there was an update before 1.6 that added some sort of dark gothic church. very similar to a certain other RPG's church area because a lot of its platforms were elevated.

no other details besides basic design remembered

Blanksword is funded.

Thank you, everyone. Holy shit. *Thank you.*
The game still looks and feels amazing to play, but it feels like they looked at Hades and took the wrong lesson from how Daedulus Hammer upgrades work.
The upgrades are very whatever with the exception of the stuff that directly adds new moves to your moveset. But then your basic moveset is extremely basic. It feels like they took off pieces of a really good belt scroller to give back to you later in the game.
Absolum is fun but also kind of weird in that it has a lot of juice to it but it's really lacking in one specific department that drags down the rest of the game. The roguelite part feels both extremely vestigial but also really negative to the design of the game as a whole.
Two games I can think of are Grandia 2 and all of the meat dungeons it has, or Devil May Cry 3's mission 8. Grandia 2 doesn't do anything fancy though, and DMC3 I think mainly has a screen filter + lots of undulating wall bits.

To me it's usually the sound that sells it the most.
Sometimes all it does take is one person to evangelicize the game to the right audience to get it over that visibility wall. It's not always going to matter because it depends on who your audience is and what success means relative to the game but it can and does make a difference.
In 2023, a youtuber by the name of Olexa released a video on the game. You can see the exact point in the game's history when the video was released, because all of the associated metrics (reviews, player count, followers) spikes immensely and it's carried that spike forward since.
I simply cannot disagree more and I even have examples of how all it takes is one person giving something visibility for it to blow up.

The Void Rains Upon Her Heart released in early access in 2018 and for a solid 5 years, went under the radar.
Making something and putting it out in the world and feeling like nobody cares sucks, I know it sucks, but the threshold between "nobody cares" and "indie success story" is not going to be one journalist or one outlet or one influencer covering your game
