Inktober sets completely unrealistic expectations regarding output. Making a complete inked drawing in one day EVERY day for a month is insane and a recipe for burnout. Don’t tie your worth to something that even professionals believe is unrealistic.

There's this phenomenon in so-called fandom spaces, where people recognize a lil' bit of themselves in a character, but instead of going "cool!", they convince themselves anything in that character that ISN'T like them is a mistake of the creator. An insulting one, at that.

Some ppl come on social media looking to argue or for a gotcha moment. They scroll thru posts looking for something to project and unload their frustration on. I get it baby but you won’t be usurping any of my energy.

I got my job working on Castlevania by drawing a comic that would be banned under bsky's new sexual content rules. If it was up to these ghouls I wouldn't have had my career

Use the feedback form to tell bsky to roll back these harmful policies and let us have creative freedom with a tagging system

also: Why are children on Bluesky unsupervised??? I wouldn't let my children use any social media unsupervised. Kids have seen and been groomed long before social media and it's only easier now. Every platform has it's scandals about this. Banning porn of any kind does nothing to adress this

No social media will ever do better moderation because that costs money. We have seen this time and again with every. single. previous. big. art. site. (cough tumblr)
and banning does never fix the underlying issue (like the pedos on, again, tumblr.) they are still there just hiding better

you can spin literally any sexual image as noncon or dubcon if someone dislikes you enough and wants your account banned. that will only be used as another tool ppl can use for harassment, not keeping blsky a sexually safe space

artists... use those 3d assets.... look up references....trace pictures of your own hands... it's not cheating, it's self care, so love yourself :)

I cannot explain enough how much I do not care if the actors of a ship do not like the ship.
I do not care if the creator or writers dislike it.
Whether a ship ends up as canon, or whether it has approval from the crew, is antithetical and meaningless to shipping culture

Every artist I’ve ever known has this itch to create that won’t go away until they create. They have to do it.

It’s why I know the “finally, someone like me can make art” AI users are full of shit. What they really mean is “finally, a way to get social media likes without hard work”.
