Now that I've got my family calendar of choice, I need to reorganize my existing calendar to make it work best with the family calendar. How is it that my attempts to "fix me" with technology always have such an up front cost?

No shit you work slower when you have to work alongside a colleague who has no object permanence, knowledge model and lacks basic math and logic 🫠
"But when the team looked at the employees’ actual work output, they found that the developers had completed tasks 20% slower when using AI than when working without it. Researchers were stunned. “No one expected that outcome. We didn’t even really consider a slowdown as a possibility.”

If it was easy, it wouldn't be Mariners baseball.

One game for the pennant. Go M's.
Just watched a video from Deutche Welle (German news) about sauerkraut. As a full-blooded ethnic German who can't stand it, I'm glad to see that a lot of the Germans they interviewed aren't really fans. Maybe I'm not such an aberrant German after all.
The one in the tiny town where I grew up served pizza by the slice. It wasn't great pizza, but it was quick and cheap - exactly what you're looking for when you can leave school at lunch. :P
I also only know of Sheetz through internet friends like you. Here we have 7-Eleven, Loaf n Jug, Schrader's and Kum & Go (although I think they changed their name. Boo.) We've recently got a Maverik and there's a Buc-ee's down the interstate, but that's pretty much it.
Watching a video on Wawa's food offerings outdoing fast food. They said "Their main competitors are 7-Eleven and Casey's." My question, "What's a Casey's?"

Like, I've heard about Wawa, but I've never even SEEN one. It's gonna be 20 years before they make it to Colorado.

At the Ren Faire today, we watched a blacksmith give a 30-minute demonstration about swords. And at the end he said, “My lecture is now over, here are some kittens to pet.”

*Proceeds to uncover 2 large pet carriers and pulls out 6 kittens.*
Yeah, he's 4 now. I don't think he's growing out of it.
But Hamish thinks REAL attacks are! He gets so excited he can't control his emotions and then he bites, bloodying Dad or bruising me.

I’m really mad about how true this is.
[Werner Herzog] I see no triumph in Cheez-It Extra Toasty, no euphoria nor pleasure. I see only a cheap imitation, a failed attempt to bottle the magic of an authentically overcooked Cheez-It. The Extra Toasty has not honored its inspiration; it is only a perverse caricature, devoid of life
Jock does this too! He wants up in my lap so I bend down to pick him up and he snaps at my face!
My friends, we had a HARD FREEZE last night! YAAAAAAAAAAASSS!

When I finally got out of bed, I saw there was still frost on my windshield! It doesn't matter that it will get up to 74 degrees today, WINTER IS COMING!
My bed has been made. Now I just need to make sure I take a shower at some point today to be able to sleep in it tonight.
Through it all, Hamish was with me, staring quietly into my eyes as if to say, "You see? I'M the good one!"
Last night was awful, but the daybed was the least of my worries. Jock and Ozzie were barking pretty much nonstop from 10pm to 1am. There would be silence for about 3 seconds then one would start up again and the other would go. I finally locked Ozzie in with me around 12:30 and he stopped...
Currently, Ozzie is in his bed downstairs and I am on the couch with Jock on the back and Hamish in my lap. It's quiet and I don't want to start them up again, but they and I need brunch and I have things to do.
But I could still hear Jock out there being just generally perturbed. I don't know what time he finally quit. Then around 6:30 this morning, they started up again, mostly Jock. I have no idea what set them off. I thought last night it was the wind or coyotes, but today? I got nuthin.

Randomly, one of the reasons I love Britain is that somewhere in that green and pleasant land is someone who is a specialist in restoring 15th c buildings with car damage and they have been waiting their WHOLE LIFE for this call!
