I’d be lying if I said they didn’t have some influence on young Jim’s political views. I was pretty stoked when I got to see them live after years of being a fan.

Show a person some numbers, make them think for a day. Get a person to educate themselves on Saskatchewan’s ridiculous political financing laws, maybe they can stop being an idiot.

But realistically, limited on digits, and internet search exists.

The annoying thing is that data backs up the bigger is safer idea.

Not because they’re legitimately safer, but just because they’re relatively safer when the large size vehicles of all the other drivers out there are taken into account.

It’s arms race logic.

I would absolutely trust EU regs more.

I was looking into how to avoid storing data out of the US and a friend who knows a lot more than I do advised me to just keep looking outside of Canada.

That was before Bill C-2 came around.

Embarrassingly I have to recant what I said.

I double checked the details and found I misremembered the fine print. Wider pushback was implied in the reporting and headline, but it was actually only from the lone progressive councillor who is also working on traffic issues at the county level.

I’m shocked by the pushback. I’m in a small town (<10,000) and our council and mayor is speaking up against the speed camera ban.

We have never had a speed camera, are unlikely to have one any time soon, and they’re not even generally concerned with traffic safety or speed reduction.
