One if my favorite things in a JRPG is when you’re on the way to a location and you just have a contextless boss fight of a monster in the way. Like you have to go through the mountain boss and at the end is a Boulder Badger. It has no story it just roars and then it’s gone.

Horizon slouching up to Dad, rubbing her back and looking vexed, saying "Ugh, Dad, sorry to bother you, but that stupid spot in the middle of my back is itching..." Dad looks up from his book with a smile and a, "It's no trouble, Sunny." Below that, rendered in a lot more detail, is Horizon sitting with her wings and elytra spread so that Dad can get in for a good scratch; the focus of the rendering is on her inner wings, which are dark and spangled with little stars (which is speculation on my part, to be clear).
